This has been the BEST review of the MOX6/MOX8 I have found thus far on youtube. Thank you so much, Mr Ujiie. I was not even aware of the microphone feature of this wonderful instrument until I saw it demonstrated by you. I am convinced after viewing this review that the MOX8 is what I am looking for. Thanks once again for your review and displaying your great talent as well.

I want to thank you buddy! I own the MX61 and MX88 and needed to find one single demo that allows you to play jazz drums with left hand bass and right hand piano. I use this a lot, but wish to play my own bass lines. That one note bass shit doesn't cut it for me and I was thrilled to see you using this very feature. Not one other video on youtube demos this except for you! KUDOS!
@StarGalaxyBoy12 жыл бұрын

I dont know the specfics of dubstep nor what you are looking for but if your looking 4 a very bassy sound then there is an octave switch that will lower the sound 3 times that means 8 hz. 64 kits including trance, hip hop and psychedlic there is a pattern recorder that lets you record in a loop. The best thing to do is go 2 your music store and try 2 play one I found that d Mox has a performance called semar dub, it got alot of bass, maybe thats what you lookin for - a mox owner

hello. I bought one today and i cant give you an exact response but i know that you can connect the MOX by USB to the computer. He brings the original cd of the cubase program to connect directly and you can record it directly to that program, by wath i know it is simply awsome. i can give you a better feedback latter. Best regards

From my own experience. I recently got an M-Audio Oxygen 49 keyboard (149.00) and Ableton Live Intro (99.00). Ableton has 500 instrument sounds and a lot of them are interesting but comparing to the MOX The MOX is made to be musical and it has a lot of really good sounds but more importantly, it has all of the right sounds to play musical compositions, then you can also connect it to a DAW like Ableton or any of the other ones out there and do Midi sequencing.

@rickashake Nope. Waveforms are identical, but all around is mostly cheaper. Check out poliphony for example...and please, play both XS6 and MOX6 on the same monitors. If you don't have any troubles with your ears, you'll notice a strong difference! Remember that people said "MO6 was a light version of Motif ES", but a keyboard doesn't cost the half because it has a smaller lcd display on...

I presently own the MO6 but after hearing the MOX6 I am defintely in the market for an upgrade. Like soon. Like next week! And looks like it's way easier to work with and program than the MO6 is.
@Sequialtera12 жыл бұрын
you can use the mox both as master keyboard and as a midi controller
@pierstheoneandonly13 жыл бұрын
At 11.30 You could hear that kalimba patch which he overdubbed clipping on its sustain/decay. As I found with my M06, with only 64 poly to play with you'll find with anything more than simple patches (and those with voices with short sustains) used in sequencer overdubs, its ability is quickly overreached.

Wow...i like the "sprit" function
@yamahamusicians11 жыл бұрын
You can hook it straight up to a pa system or keyboard amp. No need for a computer unless you want to do some editing etc, although you can do limited editing via the interface.

"Superior in just about every way..." Right. Try to read and compare the Specs. Krome's bigger ROM is coz it has 2.8GB of piano samples and 600MB of el. pianos from Kronos. Despite the huge ROM, Krome has 2663 waves, while the older M50 has 2686 waves in 256MB and MOX 2670 waves in 355MB. MOX is a monster 8-Oscillator synth while Krome is a 2-Osc synth. In each patch MOX has 8 Oscillators, 9 LFO, 8 EG, 8 PEG, 8 FEG & 8 filter! MOX is doing in patch mode what the other synths doing in combi mode.

I wish Katsunori-san would do this in Japanese. He sounds much more enthusiastic that way and less nervous. ^_^ I wonder if I should trade in my Tyros 2 for this? hmmm...
@bchow39813 жыл бұрын
@LogiForce86 Funny thing is I can't find any good Tyros demos on You Tube. All the good demos are for the lesser keyboards like the MOX. As a result I would rather just stick with the MOX6.

What Performance is that at 7:46? That is unbelievably cool! And wow, excellent playing in so many different styles. This guy is fantastic.

I have made the choice to get the MOX sometime down the line. The other keyboards out there are awesome like the Korg M50 which is 200 dollars cheaper, they are all great keyboards and may even be better than the mox in some areas but the MOX just seems to be geared towards making music and I have had more fun with the MOX than the other keyboards. Thats the 1200 dollar range. The 2400 Dollar range is a different story. I'm not going to spend 2400 on a keyboard though....

This is way better than the Korg Krome and Roland Juno Gi which are marketed to a similar crowd.
@Viczey12 жыл бұрын
Really? Awesome! So do you think that the Yamaha MOX6 is the right definitve choice for me? So in this way I'll get both a synth and a MIDI controller? Tell me :)

Thanks for saying I an an expert, very kind of you. I tend to have relationships with humans rather than inanimate objects but everyone to their own. If a crowded spec sheet keeps you happy I am very happy for you :) Enjoy your MOX :)

Do you even have the slightest idea what you are talking about? The Apogee is an Audio Interface for your Mac and if I'm not mistaken is extremely limited about MIDI, or Audio In and Out (the 2 behind the duet stands for 2 Lines). So yes, you can use the Duet to record into your Mac or Linux the analog signal of the MOX, but you won't be able to use neither the Digital Out of the MOX nor the MIDI out. So the Apogee has basically two very high quality D/As and nothing else.
@cvl8513 жыл бұрын
@dopemcee Because it's less than half the price and you get an audio interface built in!! really good for budget producers and song writers, yet. you get all the MOTIF XS sound!! nice?
@Gundrs12 жыл бұрын
mm6 and mm8 is by manny considdered a toy. due to the lack of a software editor. and all the patches are onley tweekable by 4 knobs
@rickashake Less polyphony means that sound engine isn't the same! Only waveforms are similar, and build quality, but this will be a detail. I owned both ES6 and MO6 and, believe me, on most sounds difference was HUGE! Classic guitar of After 1984 plays similar, but difference raised up with more complex sounds, like a Full Grand (maybe layered with strings or other), which is a very severe test, due to high detail/nuance of piano waveforms, and, this time, Motif makes difference... ;-)
@TheTinMan12313 жыл бұрын
Like this mox6 spook much gonna buy three lol

All you need is too edit the on board Piano sounds to your liking & store them as your own "NEW" Piano sounds with new names.... you can edit filters ,EQ, Envelops , before you save them as your own NEW sounds..Cheers.

@chessdude6713 жыл бұрын
@bossadude You can use what ever software you want. I'm going to use my Logic, but I will play around with Cubase for a bit to try it out. Peace!
@testor198812 жыл бұрын
what cable does he use to connect the mic?
@MarijanM13 жыл бұрын
@maidiremirko Less polyphony doesn't make the keyboard sound different :) I owned the ES, and I still have the MO - there's apsolutly no difference when it comes to sound itself. Yes - the keyboard is cheaper built, but you can't expect a keyboard half the price of the motif to be exactly the same :) Don't mix up "cheap" sound with cheap build material

You can make just as good of music on the MM6 as this piano here. Don't let this person give you the wrong impression. I've created some music on the MM6 and the quality is what you'd expect out of an more expensive piano. Sure its light weight for easy portability and it feels like a toy, so what! Try it for yourself in a music store near you, you will be amazed!*
@Gundrs12 жыл бұрын
yamaha should make another model without the sequencer and daw features. so but identical in all other ways. then you would have a great stage keyboard for a nice price
@rprillman8112 жыл бұрын
mm8 has the feel but not the sequencer. It also does not have the memory of the mox, motif and s90 series. I can hear the sounds are not as good.
@mister08812 жыл бұрын
Thank you for a great demo, as always. Love the Mcoy Tyner fourths thing..Anyway, How do you adjust the level of the strings once you have created a layer? there are no sliders, so can you assign a knob to the volume of the layer? thank you great job!!

Thanks! Anyways I'm going to buy the Yam MOX6 cause is a real synth and has a full-size semi-weighted keys and is not a toy. Plus it has 1000+ tones and effect I can create whatever kind of music with. The only problem is dubstep which i'm gonna solve buying an external MIDI and attaching it to the MOX6. Do you think my choice is right? :)
@efthivoulos13 жыл бұрын
This new mox6 is very good for its price BUT I think it's about time that YAMAHA come up with a real analog synthesizer. I do miss the good old analog sounds and I hate soft synths !
