I have a MX49 and MX61. It has great sounds. It's very easy and intuitive to use. My favorite board.

There are some nice sounds in this thing mate!!

Yeah true, and I considered using it for the project. 49 keys was a bit restrictive though, and it just doesn't have the crystal-clear brightness of the Triton. Great synth, but not quite right for me :)

I enjoy taking my recordings and editing the sound of the rhythms and voices. The recordings are made on my Yamaha PSR -E433 and Yamaha PSR -E443. The Yamaha MX-49 makes both the voices and rhythms sound better than the actual recording when you play it back versus the PSR -E433, PSR-E443.

Isn't this synth awesome? I've started using it for my Synthwave beats and they come out near perfect.

I agree. I'm surprised by the lack of interest in it, no-one's really talking about it at all...

How many voices can you blend/layer?
@gearfacts4 жыл бұрын
You'd have to google up the manual for that but I'm pretty sure it was 4 (from memory ...we get a lot of synths coming and going in the Gearfacts studio) :) #gearfacts

@@gearfacts ok, i downloaded the manual, but none the wiser... BUT i will get the board tomorrow, so that will be solved when i get my hands on it! ;) - Levi

Two in the board itself. But with the online editor you can layer up to 16!

Got one for Christmas,can't get my head around it,the software doesn't seem to be working properly either - unless that's windows 10 up to its old tricks,was so excited to receive it,but am disappointed with it - probably more me to blame than the instrument.

I wouldn’t be too hard on yourself, making this demo was much harder than it looked, and that was largely due to the operating system of his keyboard. :-)

Although this is a mighty fine machine, it has one strange limitation: when playing mono lead or bass sounds, it can't be set to retrigger the envelope when playing legato which means players have to keep taking their fingers momentarily off and on the keys. It's an odd oversight, given Yamaha's long experience with synths.

Aftertouch

@@ET2carbon The MX's keyboard does not include aftertouch.
@ET2carbon Жыл бұрын
@@musicandfilms9956 I don't know, but that's what you're describing
@musicandfilms9956 Жыл бұрын
@@ET2carbon It has nothing to do with aftertouch. It is legato triggering in mono mode, which most synths have but the MX range does not.
