I just ordered my P515 white. After days of testing keyboards at the music shop, I’m glad I narrowed down the one I want to this one. So hard to choose between the competition, Kawai ES8, Roland FP90 and this one... All are amazing keyboards but I gotta say the p515 I think is the cheapest of the 3 but the sound samples and action definitely feels more “right” than the competition!

Im selling my Roland HP603(Same sound/action of FP90) cause I just cant stand that digital tone anymore. The Yamaha, otherwise, sounds gorgeous and very very realistic. Cant wait to purchase it!

Very excellent demo. Some of those EP samples are great. Super player. If you don't see the value in buying one of these (or the equally excellent P125), you're really missing out. Yamaha have made a gem of a digital piano.

Thiago Secundo I realy agree with you! Unfortunatly, these guys who make demos for digital pianos, they don't care about classical music! They just care about money! (Because the majority of people don't know what classical music is, even some absolute beginners of piano : they see pop music stuff, they buy the piano, then they will see something totally different!)

I agree with you 100%!! It seems that all these demos are - I don't know what they are, but perhaps awful sounding improvisations that I don't care for. Piano jazz is just terrible! I am only interested in classical music and I think that's what pianos are mainly for.

They have coy the Kawai es8 stand design and piano look. I bought mine in july 2016 and the yamaha looks identical.

Yamaha have done a copy of the es8 stand released more than 3 years ago. It seems nearly identical. The 515 exist only because of the es8 that blew the previous yamaha. I like yamaha as i have a pro arranger but here it seems definitely a copy of my es8 stand i bought in july 2016. And i still think the sound of es8 is more natural. The key have more ivory feels texture. But yamaha copying kawai is a recognition for kawai that they are a bigger player now with their portable piano.

Hi, somebody people could feels any difference between the wooden white keys and the plastic black keys in NWX key action?..., because many people complaints about the uneven feel or weird feeling between a solid white keys vs a cheap feeling black keys..., is your feeling too?. Please, share your experience... Thanks!...

Both white and black keys are made of wood. NWX Natural Wood X. It’s just the synthetic ivory and synthetic ebony that’s different. The black keys have a slight texture to increase the grip. And if you’re a beginner or intermediate player who finds the keys too heavy you can adjust the touch in the settings to be light if you prefer. I like the heaviest setting personally as it gives more control over dynamics. Pair it with the wooden stand, 3 pedal unit and you have the best Clavinola Yamaha never made for half the price of the CLP range. I love mine.

Yamaha P-515 has in my opinion much more realistic piano sounds than Roland FP90 and also a noticeably better keyboard, feeling under the fingers much closer to a real piano keyboard. I will buy Yamaha P-515 and, if asked, advise it to anyone asking. :) Finally, Yamaha offers in one instrument at least 2 famous grand pianos (Yamaha CFX Grand and Bösendorfer Imperial) which possess different sound characteristics and render the spirit of these wonderful instruments very well, apart from many other very good sounds. If you take into consideration the feeling of the keyboard and the quality of piano sounds, Yamaha P-515 is just better than Roland FP90. Maybe even the best on the market in the price range.

@@agaveboy I really wanted to love the P515, but the keybed action is horrible. It feels twice as heavy as any grand piano I've ever owned or played, and was very sluggish.... like playing in mud. My hands/wrists were sore after 10 minutes on it. Plus the UI is crap, and the non-piano sounds are bad. Yamaha really dropped the ball on the P515.

I listened to a few comparison videos on KZbin, I really disliked the sound on the FP90. The Kawai ES8 sounded really great as well, but still a tiny bit too mellow for me. I ordered the Yamaha P-515 yesterday

Unfortunately this new model is a little bit overpriced. At least here in Germany you can get a real Clavinova (not a YDP) for less. Yes, I know...it`s like comparing apples and oranges...because the P-models are portable. But still...

MSRP is 1.684 EUR...without the stand. Even if the price will drop to...let`s say...1.300 EUR, it will still be MORE expensive...and you still need to pay extra money for the stand. I am curious if there will be some "special bundle" offers perhaps.

But in order to have three pedals you HAVE to buy the optional stand. ;-) The basic CLP-625 (Rosewood) goes for only 1.101 EUR here in Germany. But let`s check the better CLP-635 as well. The recent bundle-price to beat is 1.429 EUR...for a CLP-635 (white) with a piano chair and headphones included.

This is a CLP-645 in portable form. And in the US, the price difference is massive. Even with the stand and pedals it's around $2000 whole the CLP-645 is $3500-$4000

A good pianist can make almost any cheap piano sound good. However this piano has serious problems. If you press a key for more than a couple of seconds there is a buzzing sound like a mosquito... Don't buy it. At least go and play before you do. I own a P515 for about a month now, and I wish I knew better

Hate when people avoid playing classical. Just play some damn well known classical piece, such as Clair de Lune or some Chopin nocturnes so we can compare it next to great recordings.
