@@BlackHawkTejasyou may check out the Motorinc podcast talking about how the Japanese philosophy of manufacturing and updating/upgrading items places shackles of bureaucracy and inertia on genuinely world class fantastic products. Their way of thinking is like why to update it if it's working, which, is correct for some duration of product lifecycle, but over the long term, competitors catch up to the level and eventually overtake them. R3 isn't going to make much of a sense, provided some individual buys it for what it currently is. Reliability can be 100/100 but there are other aspects also wherein the R3 falls short not because it is poorly made, but the fact that it's manufacturer is seemingly stubborn enough to make any significant change.

Having driven an RS457, all I can say is that it is the meanest, most gorgeous and the wildest stock exhaust on a motorcycle in the Indian market under 10 lakhs! Pops and burbles. Yes. An absolutely beautiful bike? Yes. 10/10? One hundred percent! Unbelievable!!!!! 🇮🇹 ❤

Much needed comparison to those who even remotely considered the R3. Its ex showroom price has to be its onroad price to be honest... Sadly no. As far as I see, good fuel economy, tour ability, ground clearance, engine reliability and service cost and service network are the pros for R3. But the Features, VFM factor, racy components make the Italian the goto bike!

In my city, Kolkata, Aprilia cost 5.08L on road and MT03 costs 5.30L. Also cant contest the price of Aprilia as there is only one showroom and service. With this kind of price difference, MT03 makes a lot of sense due to its reliability and vast service network. You just can't ride VFM. - Shumi

Although aprilia rs457 is locally manufactured in India & is a value for money product & has more power output & torque than the yamaha R3 which is a CBU unit due to which price is on higher side & that's makes the most of enthusiast riders disappointed. But one thing I must say that the japanese engine R3 is in the market for quite a long now & is extremely reliable engine which we can't comment about the newly italian engine.

I would buy neither. My first "purchase" was a ninja 400. I still have it. It just barely does what I want it to do. It does everything its supposed to, just barely reaching "satisfactory" levels. I've never ever ever seen somebody that says things like "there's nothing wrong with smaller bikes" actually riding a smaller bike. It's like ktm saying that "supersports don't belong on the road" while selling a naked bike that produces 188 horsepower. The same people saying "you shouldn't get this cuz its too powerful" have exactly that bike they're talking shit to you about. I've never seen another ninja 400. Only seen one rc390. Only seen one yamaha r3. Seen tons of hayabusas, r1, cbr600 and 1000, zx6r and zx10r, ducati, aprilia, bmw s1000rr, etc.... Saw somebody on a yamaha xsr900. Seen a z900 and a z1000. As soon as I finish paying off my 400, I'm replacing it with a much bigger bike. I get it that "you gotta start somewhere", but money doesn't grow on trees and I never see those "small bikes are better" people on smaller bikes. They're all on big bikes making well over 100hp.
