God damn…you brought me some nostalgia for me tonight. I do went from Z400 to YFZ450 back when it first released in 2004. I still remember the first time I rode it and punched it in 3rd gear and was like “holy sh@t!”. What a rocket ship….I also remember the first time I beat my friends DS650 on it ☺️…good times.

@@ROCKINRODNEY Excellent question. I read the bill and it states any two lane road with 55 mph or under or 4 lane road 35 mph or under unless expressly prohibited. The biggest thing people need to know in my opinion is the ride of both. Raptor is way softer than the yfz. You gotta ride the yfz fast to get the reward Out of the suspension or it will beat on you on long trail rides. Raptor is made to relax and ride slower if you want to. Don’t get me wrong the raptor is a badass threw the whoops and rough stuff at high speeds

@FunGoingFast Жыл бұрын
The KFX and LTZ make great first sport/trail quads. They have plenty od power, good suspension and reverse which you miss more than you think on the trail. The YFZ is definitely faster and much more capable on the track. But it has a taller first gear, more aggressive ergonomics, and stiffer suspension. I started with a z400 going from automatics and it worked really well.

Hi, I do have a SE raptor 700 and was in the market to get another quad is the yfz trouble some regarding engine gearbox i know 5 value titanium is pricy, performance motor are reliable, and suspension i do trails, dunes, but love tracks with jumps atm i use a blaster because i just bought the raptor i have to adjust the shocks for jumps i dont want to break the frame, you obviously got alot of knowledge and experience with both of them,

The YFZs I owned were all very reliable. I ride fast but dont feel like I abuse things. I always use the clutch when shifting and never had any transmission issues. And I really liked the slipper clutch and transmission on my 21 YFZ. Its a killer machine for power slides and jumps for sure.

@FunGoingFast3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for the feedback. Im a big Can Am Renegade fan as well. I had a 500 for awhile and really enjoyed it. I have a review on it as well. These are both aggressive sport quads made for sliding, jumping amd going as fast as you can. The Renegades are also fast but are more much heavier. They are also more comfortable and can handle technical terrain with ease. But cant do big jumps and can habe good power but womt accelerate like a sport quad. If you are just getting into quads the Renegade would probably be the better choice. If you have ridden for awhile and are pretty aggressive then the Raptor or YFZ are a blast.

Curious as to why you went back to the carb coming from the X. Dimensionally they are close to the same. Also it's the Indian not the arrow. Patrick Riggs was able to pull away from Pete's 450r on his z400.
@FunGoingFast2 жыл бұрын
Hello. Thanks for watching.Warning long reply. I dont buy any machine to try to out do anyone or race competitively so I dont buy machines thinking my arrow will now be faster than someone elses. I support anyone in the hobby and I say people should get what they enjoy riding the most, whatever brand, size, category that works for them. Its my favorite hobby and I get things I enjoy personally. For me the X was very tiring to ride (coming from a fit person who works out regularly and mtn bikes) so I saw no point in keeping it. The ergonomics were different and I didnt like the handling or way it absorbed bumps, rocks, etc. The 04 I had before it and the 03 I got after didn’t have those issues. Nor does my Raptor. They dropped the X from the lineup so I apparently I wasnt the only one who wasnt a big fan. If it works for others great. No question they are fast. I prefer EFI to carb but I dont have an unlimited budget and have other toys. And I have a weakness for “great deals” which may not always work out in my favor. But I found the 2nd carb YFZ for $1,000 with no major issues until I managed to snap the chain which in turn broke the case (no chain saver of course). For that price Ill happily pull the choke on a cold day. But now Im back to EFI with my Raptor. So thats how Ive ended up where I am. And Ive had fun getting here.

Question... I'm 6'5" 270 I ride 2019 YZ450F now looking for a quad.. Looking at the Can Am DS 650 but would love a Raptor 700. What's the leg room on the 700 for big guys?
@FunGoingFast Жыл бұрын
Ive never ridden a DS 650 but I feel like you’d probably be pretty comfortable in a Raptor 700. Sneak over to a show room and hop on one, if you can just to see. But they have some of the best ergonomics of any ATV I’ve ridden, and definitely the best of sport ATVs. The Suzuki Z400s I really comfortable for people that are 6 feet under, but I feel like you would not have any issues on the raptor.

@FunGoingFast2 жыл бұрын
Good question. Yamaha makes fairly reliable machines so I think they are fairly comparable. The Raptor doesn't have to work as hard to ride fast so it may get a slight nod in reliability compared to the YFZ if you are revving the YFZ out all the time. But both can take a beating and keep going.
