OMG, I am the first person watching the video (posted 53 seconds ago). Clearly a sign that I should finally get myself an RS7000, some 20 years after I first wanted one. Fo shizzle.

Hi @@mr_floydst the Mode "voice edit" gives you the opportunity to go more in depth for changing the single sound on a pattern I Imagine, right?...but is it the only way to save on the pattern the changed sound, or it will be saved (with changes) also if we use only the panel's knobs? Thank you so much 🙏 (I have this machine since 2 days, but unfortunately the "voice edit button doesn't works 😢 )

I love this machine. One thing though and maybe it’s an OS thing but I can’t seem to get any visual feedback on the patterns I record. I can hear everything but no note information is displayed when I playback my tracks. Hasn’t really bothered hampered me that much but I am interested in knowing if I’m missing something small. Can’t see anything in the manual either
@mr_floydst Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The only visual representation of your recorded notes will be in step sequencer mode, or in list edit mode.
@taepr Жыл бұрын
@@mr_floydst thanks Floyd, in your video you record some bass notes. When you play them back you can see the notes change on your pitch on your step sequencer. I've never been able to see my notes in this manner

Hi, how much measures can one pattern have in RS7000? For example maximu for YQ70/100 is only 8 measures. And second quentin... Have RS7000 "pattern list"? I mean list of patterns that make music play sequentially and I could easily change the order at any time. Thanks.
@mr_floydst2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching! Max pattern length is 256 bars. ( ! ). And yes, there's pattern chain mode - up to 20 patterns can be chained. There's also song mode with a pattern track, but that one isn't that "dynamic".

they floyd i got a quesion, when im trying to record with replace mode, after i press stop it doesnt save the data on the channel...i did like you've shown here, first mixer, choose the kit, then again press mixer, exit exit, press the keyboard button and then the record button, play, and when it stops and i want to listen to it, it doesnt save it, like it was blank before, any clue ? thnx alotttt.

Hi, thanks for watching! On some operations, there will be a "create" option on . If you're done with your changes, you _have_ to press that button, otherwise your changes will be lost. It's for previewing changes, I guess. I have no other ideas what could cause this problem, but that happened to me several times in the last weeks. ;-)
@renottoner61203 жыл бұрын
@@mr_floydst thnx alot for the quick respond, you're the best. alright, and the "create" option is where? in mixer? After pressing record?
@renottoner61203 жыл бұрын
ok figured it out, in the options note - in/out , the in wasnt checked. thnx :) hope really you'll make a series about the yamaha rs7000, i have this machine for years and it was always very hard to figure it out, after this vid i dust it off and started playing with it again. thnx
do you still use this thing? I found that if I copy my 4bar (or whatever length) loop that i have going in A, to B, any changes I make effect both. this is really annoying. do sections get chained together or do styles? should I have copied it to style 2? it seems like to build a track you would stay in the same style, and build different variations (chorus, break, bridge verse etc) in the A-P sections of whatever number style you are in. so it is impossible to copy and paste? you have to start from scratch for each section? thats a b.s. paradigm if so.
@mr_floydst2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. I don't own this anymore - I sometimes buy gear, show it on my channel, and then sell it again. That being said, this is quite similar to my EX5. So if you're arranging a song from "styles" or "patterns", repeating one pattern in a song doesn't create an actual second pattern. It merely repeats the same pattern. If you want to create a variation of the style/pattern, you need to copy it to another empty slot and work on the copy. This is the standard in hardware sequencers and might be confusing if you're coming from a DAW. The reason for this is memory in hardware sequencers is limited so repeating the same pattern instead of copying it saves memory.
@eternity8811 Жыл бұрын
Everything pattern related on the rs is stored in phrase data that saves writing every change you make, and theoretically meaning no limit on user patch type settings. It was a big selling point back when it came out. So if you change a sound in one phrase compared to another then append (the rs term) them together one of the two settings is overwritten or discarded. So many annoying downsides to this thing. Still can't get mine to record knob tweaks FFS 😞 Edit: you could overcome your issue with hours of inserting MIDI control and program change messages in the edit list for each phrase depending on what changes need to be made, then append them.
@Hiddenfoodloft3 жыл бұрын
Is it possible to save an entire song on the sequencer alone?
@mr_floydst3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes, you can save songs.

Second answer: ... but you need a smart media card or a scsi hard disk to save. there is no internal storage.

so with 2 midi outs, Yamaha claims it cun access 32 midid channels at once, but with only 16 tracks, how does that work?
@mr_floydst3 ай бұрын
It's been a while, but there's a "Bank" button which lets you switch between Tracks 1-16 and 17-32. These are routed to MIDI out A and B.
@THETBRETT3 ай бұрын
@@mr_floydst I've been going through the manual and can't find anything about that. I think it means you can have 32 available but only 16 at once, or some doubled up. Wonder what 2 RS 7000 would be like lol
@mr_floydst3 ай бұрын
It's on page 110 in the english manual ;-) - search for "out b" in the PDF version.
@THETBRETT3 ай бұрын
@@mr_floydst what I gather is there are 32 midi "channels" but only 16 "tracks", meaning you could juggle 2 channel;s on 1 track or have 1 track send the same data to two destinations, but not have 32 sperate midi channels at once, unlike say the E-Mu command stattions. It's a weird thing to have 2 midi outs but not be able to use them properly, but I guess it helps in a studio setting so less playing around with midi cables. Anyway, thanks for your clips, and I'm still too scared to change the screen lol
