These are a relatively big PITA for what should be easy to access the battery. Last time I took mine apart I ran a small sperate hot lead down so I didn't have to rip it all apart again should I need to charge the battery or possibly jump it. I'd highly recommend everyone install a battery tender lead next time you have to access the battery to avoid this PITA until the battery needs to be replaced!

Only thing that's not obvious is how the hell do you get those fairings off and you skipped that.

Rather complicated location for an automatic motorcycle battery. Great tutorial tho
