Number 1. Reliability. Always most important thing. Keeping it simple is the best way to achieve this., I think. There are no surprises this bike is so popular. Just tubeless to make it perfect Mr Yamaha. Looking forward to seeing where it takes you. Happy travels

I've seen people make tube rims tubeless with a tube of marine silicone glue and 3M tape. Could work for this bike too.

@teneretraveller8980 2 жыл бұрын
@@rationalityfirst I think the rims need to be specific for this conversion and I'm not sure they are on the Ten. But don't quote me.. For most people, me included, tubeless is easier and better. 👍

The advantage is that the F650GS rims have a safety bead, they don't come off very easy off the rim.

No need for tubless you can use Nuetech Tubeliss. For my taste, the T7 has to high center of gravity. There are bikes which are easier to rude offride

Thanks Pavlin for another strait forward honest impression, I have had my T7 now for 4 months and have put 7,500 Km on it with over 50% of those miles being off-road. I weigh 76 kg but ride aggressively in gnarly terrain at times so I have had to upgrade the suspension, but you are IMO spot on in your assessment of the suspension and if one is weight conscious (very little protection and soft panniers like the Mosko Moto reckless 40L and 80L) and does not ride too aggressively then the suspension is quite adequate. Yamaha's R&D for this bike is a breath of fresh air in the ADV community and was listening to that small group of the KISS (keep it simple stupid) group, I am a happy camper with finding my unicorn in the process.

I do enjoyed your experiences on motorcycle. You keep reminding every since that "motorcycle is a tool". I like that very much. New riders and old riders most of them still keep the kind or brand of motorcycle is a "icon". Hope one day they can understand the meaning "tool"! From my perspective I agree with your way of riding lifestyle. I don't see such negative items, because adventure life is unpredictable. I just envy you ! Safe riding and thank you . Cheers !

Hello Pavlin, I bought mine more than a year ago exactly for the same reasons, simplicity, reliability, and, after to have try one, good chassis and very fun engine ( punchy, lot of torque, but also smooth, very easy ). This bike has not so much faults, easy to fix. First one if you're riding offload is the exhaust which is exposed, and its fixation could bend ( twist ) in case of fall, and then it could rub on the swingarm ( the main problem for whom is riding offload ).That's why I put HP Cose high position, neither for the look, neither for the sond, but only because it's very much less exposed Other little things to me was the size of the footpegs, above all right side, because off the width off the engine ( clutch carter ), I had only half my boot on the peg..I change also windscreen for a higher and larger, wich give more confort and silence on the road. I also upgrade suspensions, because I'm very "picky" about this topic. Anyway, this bike is a very good bike, easy, fun, very efficient offroad and on little twisty roads as you mentioned it.. Its greatest strength is its versatility !..enjoy it !

I was happy with the suspension at first but on faster dirt roads that are not smooth but with lots of sharp edge rocks the suspension would bottom out and it was not nice feeling, heavier springs for my weight made a big difference along with more aggressive tyres the bike now feels a lot better on the dirt. Fuel economy is good until you sit on about 110 Kph then it starts to use more, check your Speedo against a GPS speedo as I found out my Speedo is about 10% out, 100 GPS is 110 on the Speedo and 60 GPS is 66 on the Speedo. I also found out the other day don’t just fill up the fuel tank up to the bottom of the lip in the tank, take the extra time to get in as much fuel as possible. I ran out of fuel and it took 16 litres but only about 15 to the lip, the last litre was a slow process to get that last litre in there. The T7 is a great bike, not perfect but these are just a couple of things I noticed so far in 15,000 Klm’s.

so, the question is...do you wish the T7 had tubeless wheels? for a non-dirt bike, aren't tubed wheels a turn off for such traveling? I had the T7 for a year, and even with my vertical challenges :-) I never complained...until I was on a trip and had a flat on tarmac with 60mph. The flat fix wasn't the problem....the deflation within seconds was the major issue, which almost killed me. (Tubeless deflates way slower which gives you time to realize, react, pull aside).

I wish Yamaha had not cut the corners and compromised two things. 1) ABS not possible to switch of only rear. 2) Engine not adapted for adventure bike. The oil sump is tall. That makes the engine to sit high which in turn makes the bike top heavy. Big Rock Moto says it's easier to pick up a GS than the T7. I wish my KTM890 Adventure R had the Yamaha reliability though.
