I have to follow your dry course before starting into season 2022. Thanks for the torque values. I added some of them to my own maintenance sheet. What I just learned in anothe rvideo today: at 10:25 you can see the red dot on your rear tyre. The tyre should be mounted in that way so that red dot and valve are in line. In case the tyre shows a green dot, mount green dot and valve opposite of each other. UPDATE SEP/22: You video helped me to put all the things together in the right order when putting the wheels back. I hope all is well with you, Sven. Greetings from Germany, Bernd 💙💛🏁🤛🏼

And... having to remove and replace a wheel during a trip implies a puncture that needed to be fixed! Doing all that in a muddy field, perhaps in the rain, without a jack stand(!) would be an interesting video tutorial! :-)

I notice that there are 2 very large balance weights on spokes of the rear wheel, Sven. Are they to balance anything unusual inside the tire? Maybe a TUbliss system?
@thetubelesschannel

No, nothing unusual there :-)
@The333
@The333 3 жыл бұрын
Excellent video, Sven. Just curious, would you be using a center stand on the trail? If so, what technique would you use to get the weight off the front wheel? (I saw another tutorial where a small log was wedged under the front of the bash plate while the bike is on the center stand.)
@thetubelesschannel
@thetubelesschannel 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I have no center stand on my bike, so I will have to use a trail stand like this: www.endurostar.com

I saw that vid as well. Notice he has the stock basic “cowling”- as it is referred to in the owner’s manual. Sven’s is aftermarket (or stock on Rally edition). Different animal. I’m not sure I’d jack on the basic one. The manual says don’t do it (or frame rails either).

I saw a video (Swanky Cat) where he states that the bikes shouldn't be lifted in that matter because of the support arms or something? Is that true?
@thetubelesschannel
@thetubelesschannel 3 жыл бұрын
I have also seen that video. It is questionable, it seems strange that the skid plate, which is there to protects the bike, should not be able to carry the weight of the bike. I have not seen any issues yet.
@The333
@The333 3 жыл бұрын
I think I agree with him - I use a scissor jack to keep the bike stable (or to keep the weight off of the front wheel), but I use it in conjunction with a rear Paddock stand.
