Simply magnificent, the sounds on this synth are stunning. You really are a talented keyboardist. All my experience just came from a Yamaha S80, but you, you have an endless collection of synths, a collection that could make someone go mad. Hats off to you SynthMania!!!

Great demo, very useful. The John Carpenter rich demo tracks of Morpheus2027 from way back (2007) Yamaha TG500 Demo Sound Synth Parte I by Davide Solurghi (Morpheus2027) /watch?v=G5LUIqQb8cY and Yamaha TG500 Demo Sound Synth Parte II by Davide Solurghi (Morpheus2027) /watch?v=2D0UCToa4Uo made me 'fall in love' with this versatile and generous synth (384 Patches, 252 Performances!). I have quite a few rack modules more than I have rack space but my TG500 has a place of honor next to Access Virus C and Oberheim Matrix1000 etc. I must admit I never did explore the programming potential of this VA synth that most people take to be "just another nineties rompler".

Interested in a sound module/tone generator for my Yamah Tyros 4. So how does this work? For each sound bank on my Tyros 4 I set (lock) to the sound from the generator. Everytime I select a sound from that bank, lets say synth1, it will play the sound from the module.. and not internal Tyros 4?
@ish23310 жыл бұрын
I was curious about this synth, but I think it's just a box of factory sets no ? One cannot create sounds with it. A lot of those 90's synths offering so many presets, it's hard to want to create sounds.

But, what is the advantage of 64+ voices of polyphony ??? Even when using a sequencer + a few different patch, who would play 64 notes at the same time ?
@asic_10 жыл бұрын
You forget about the chorus, sustain, echo & reverb effects, They use extra channels aswell
@detheridge195110 жыл бұрын
An orchestra would.
@SynthManiaDotCom10 жыл бұрын
Well, depending on the patches used, layering, split, or multi-oscillator setups, polyphony can disappear quickly. It's also useful in multi-timbral mode. Today's synths can have 256 voices of polyphony or more.
@Caycee7710 жыл бұрын
Depending on the complexity of the patch one note can take up to 4 voices (or up to 8 in modern synthesizers). 4 simultaneously pressed keys in a single patch - 16 voices. Multiply by 16 MIDI channels - 256 voices.
@florianperrin842410 жыл бұрын
So it is not about real polyphony, it's just DSP use... On my (quite recent) VA synth, there is "only" 20 voices (x2 slots) but these voices are always available, no matter how complex is the patch, and the FX I use. I think this is more realistic in this way. OK I can just use two patches at the same time... ;-)

Is there a way to change banks, from an external controller ? I can send program changes alright but I havent found how to change between preset voice 1-5 , internal and performance banks.

Let's hope some fool doesn't pay 2 grand for one of these on a Japanese ebay site, and then they will all suddenly be 2K+ like the FS1R which was 600 AUD (400 USD) in 2016 and when I went to buy one in 2017 it was suddenly 3000 AUD. The Japanese second hand gear module ebay stores are killing prices, their greed is unfathomable - somehow they upmake everything outrageously and are forcing new price bars. This time I will actually grab one and a CZ-101 before they go up.

It is about talent. When you are talented you will make giant leaps in a short time if not, everything turns out to be hard work. Because music comes from the heart, not from the mind. That is a major difference!
