Are the holes really needed to attach the extender? Don’t you think a strong double sided tape should hold it together?

Can you explain why you removed the clip from the mudguard? I'm not sure I see the need, once you have unclipped the hose surely you can remove the mudguard with the clip in place? Am I missing something? I am about to do the same job this week when the extenda arrives in the post.
