Just a quick review of some quick release seat bolts made by series defender outfitters. They will work with any TW200 year and make it faster to remove and install the seat. They are made with stainless steel and are a bit expensive but they are made here in the USA. Thanks for watching!
You can find the seat bolts here: www.seriesdefe...

For the money, I was hoping these might be like an actual quick release. Not just a longer bolt that's well machined
@TDubsKid
@TDubsKid 4 жыл бұрын
yeah would be cool to see something like that. One thing I can think of that might work is one of those cam handle locks like this, (just as an example) www.grainger.com/product/3DAC6?gclid=Cj0KCQjwhZr1BRCLARIsALjRVQPJfF6gy9w7XLXtSQYWOaJXSIl-G7lPI_gzt5vVr1i01Coos-xBrRgaAo_eEALw_wcB&cm_mmc=PPC:+Google+PLA&ef_id=Cj0KCQjwhZr1BRCLARIsALjRVQPJfF6gy9w7XLXtSQYWOaJXSIl-G7lPI_gzt5vVr1i01Coos-xBrRgaAo_eEALw_wcB:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!2966!3!281698275558!!!g!470847567040! you would still have to unscrew it though but wouldn't require any tools. not sure if would stay down going over tons of bumps and stuff though, I might have to try it out at some point, would need to get the correct thread and bolt length

@@TDubsKid I like this idea a lot. I have a feeling it would stay really well. This is the same technology used on bicycles for the seat post. I mountain bike pretty hard and have no issues over jump and seriously rocky sections.

What about pieces of all thread lock tighted into the bolt holes that are drilled for a hair pin like you'd have on a reciever hitch pin.
@TDubsKid
@TDubsKid 4 жыл бұрын
a pin wouldn't be good for me because the rack attaches to that spot, needs to be tight

@@MarylandWearAndCarry Or use a large wingnut and lock washer with the allthread! Still have to "unscrew" but a large wingnut would make it "tool-less"

I bought longer bolts, cut the head off and drilled a hole through the extended part. Then I used an R clip to keep the seat attached. So the R clips would not get lost, I tethered them using a stranded stainless steel wire to a ring lug that is held by a bolt under there someplace. I can easily just grab the tether and tug to release the pin and then lift the seat. To put back on, I can feel the hole with the pin, again on a tether so no need to get on my knees and look up. Easy on and off without having to look at what I am doing, all by feel.

Hey there Tdubs! Your TW starts to have more aftermarket parts than factory ones! I'm now a proud owner of a 2002 TW125, and oh boy that bike is GREAT, especially for its age! I drove it 400miles in little under 1 dat home from purchase and I love it! Sadly, i'm cut from it for at least one week due to me breaking that pesky oil gallery bolt and had to leave it at the shop to get it removed. But after that it will be FUN! I already ordered aftermarket barkbusters

Those look heavy and not as quick as I hoped they'd be. Now I'm wondering if I could somehow get a threaded rod fixed into the treads on seat. Then drill a whole in the rod and put a pins through the holes. But the seat will probably be loose some ...... I have a another seat coming to replace the one I have I'll have to do some tool shed engineering on the old one.

yeah a bit heavy for sure. that might work, I would just need them tight because my rack attaches there too. I think cam handles could work
@bikersoncall
@bikersoncall 4 жыл бұрын
My solution was ; I just use a jam nut that you can loosen with your fingers, snug it finger tight only, then screw a piece of tight fitting hose over the bolt, I put a little handle on the end of the hose to make it easy to grab and turn. I think doing the same with a cotter or keeper pin of some kind would work also, you'd have to drill a hole through the bolt. I note though that after awhile if you use the rubber tubing it will need to be replaced periodically, loses its tight fit. My bike tools are under the seat , and didn't want to carry a wrench in my pocket just to be able to get at the tools.

Seems like it'd be a slightly better idea to add either an Allen key hole or a Torx Head hole in the end of the Bolt rather than an awkward to reach bolt head making a wrench the only way the bolt can be tightened. In fact? Wouldn’t it be a better idea just to get a stainless steel Allen head bolt that is as long as this fancy $40 bolt and put 5-6 nuts onto it up to the point where the fancy bolt stops then put on your stock washer on and.. Bingo. For $5-$6 bucks you'd have an even more useful solution.

Hey...need help with the best shifter guards fornthebTW200
@TDubsKid
@TDubsKid 4 жыл бұрын
shifter guards?? like as in handguards or something else?
@tedfiocchi4499
@tedfiocchi4499 4 жыл бұрын
TDubsKid yes ! Hand guards...also on the best rear gear rack. I know you’ve made videos in the past but they were a while ago and I don’t know if there’s anything that’s come along that you consider better so yes hand guards and a rear rack. Also is there any good Siskyou replacement to give it a little high and speed for getting some trail trail on the road?

For $40, I don't think so. It did inspire a different design though. I noticed the key ring was $35.

This is what I did... A couple clips on some cut off bolts that I bottomed out and cross-drilled :) www.tw200forum.com/threads/mule-nuts.190/page-2#post-16414

Better idea would be to install just the threaded bolt so it stays with the seat and use a wingnut: done.
@TDubsKid
@TDubsKid 4 жыл бұрын
for sure as long as the wing nut can turn in that tight area with out running into the frame

@@TDubsKid My thoughts, exactly. It's a pretty tight area right in there. Maybe if I knew how to weld, I could come up with some better solutions...

You say the name of the company so quickly you can't understand the first word. You don't show the bag long enough to read it. I would like to buy these bolts but still have no idea where to get them. You might want to spend a few seconds giving information on the company that makes products you're reviewing.
