I like how you have a planned maintenance schedule or should I say, controlled routine tender care for your investments. Thanks for sharing your passion. 😮

Ive been riding the streets over 30 years, I know what you mean about floor boards. My 1100 is the first bike I ever owned that had them. Took me a week to get used to them and now I love them. Dont let it fool ya about corners either, the boards are designed on a hinge and its fun as hell those times when you get deep in a corner and scrape them.

Got the same bike for my first one as well, custom just means you get the smaller thinner tire in the front and the smaller fender for it, the classic gets you the big fat tire up front.

Yeah, they are some big ass bikes. I went from a Kawasaki ninja 600 to a 2007 classic 1100, and that Yamaha scares me more than the ninja ever did. It’s so damn heavy for one thing. You feel the weight at low speeds. Still, I love ❤️ my bike!

Not really wanting a bike for speed but I was thinking about starting off on this one. I know it’s powerful but like you said I kind of want to grow into it. I master things rather quickly and eventually would like to run it down a track. I think 1100 would be a lot better than a 650.

As it is about three and a half years since you filmed this, I wonder if you still have your 1100. I hope so, because that's the only bike you'll ever need for the rest of your life. And, it will last that long if you keep after it. I love my V Star and it's been super reliable. Your bike is a real beauty, Enjoy !

Going to check out a 2003 1100 v star tomorrow. My second bike but haven't ridden in 25 years. Very eager to ride again. Me too, also wanted to grow into it. Any more suggestions for me.
@NJBoden2 жыл бұрын
Just ride at your own pace and don’t feel any pressure to do anything you aren’t comfortable with. After 25 years you’re basically new again and that’s ok. 1100 will be enough to grow with and it might be good enough to where you won’t grow out of it either. Have fun, enjoy the ride and stay safe out there

Hi! I’m from Argentina. Do you think that carbureted engines are a problem? In order to use not daily? Congrats for your bike
@NJBoden2 жыл бұрын
Hi :) I don't think they are the worst but they do lack some of the conveniences of fuel injected bikes. Primarily they aren't as reliable for starting in colder weather and when you start them up, you usually have to let them warm up for a minute or else they can be a little jumpy. You can let a carbureted bike sit for a few days or so and it will work fine, but if you are going to go for longer than a couple weeks, you might have a rougher time starting it since the bike will slowly leech power from the battery so I'd recommend putting the battery on a charger if it's going to be a while before you ride again. Have a great day ♥

That nice bike. Some one really take care of it got lot extra. In that bike you need that oil filter out side it also work as oil cooler that one good thing I have it on mine you dont want have go thir all it take to change the oil in bike oil change should fast and simple where change more often special on bike because air cool and oil get hot and need change more often then car.

hi nj nice ride.i have a 04 vstar 1100 classic the differences are not much i have the large Memphis shield and larger old school fenders.i got mine back in 012 when gas was 4+ bucks a gallon.it had been about 25 years since i had a road bike.i picked the vstar because of its good reviews on dependability,low maintenance cost.i just got a set of mustang seats about a week ago,the stock seat was killing my ars for 4 years.if your going to have a passenger do them and yourself a favor and get a set of mustang seats. the lady's will love you for it.well as it is said keep the rubber side down brother and from a old biker to a young one ride safe,ride smart and be courteous on the road . there's enough asshole bikers out there that give us good bikers a bad name .😎
@NJBoden8 жыл бұрын
I hear you man there are some fools out there for sure lol. I'll check out those saddles definitely need to help out the plus ones :) After trying even a few Harleys nothing beats the Vstar (to me anyways) it's anvil reliable and haven't needed to do anything major yet! Thanks for the kind words, checking out my video and as they say in the air force "May you always come more than you go". Take it easy :)

I see this vid is a few years old so I had a question: how has the carburetor been treating you? I see the synchronization intervals are every 4k miles, so I'm just mentally prepping for that haha.
@NJBoden2 жыл бұрын
Been just fine. Honestly the only time you really need to be super worried is if the bike only runs on full choke. But honestly that’s just neglectful at that point.

not to get too personal but... how big are you? I'm 5 8 and 170 lbs wondering if this is excessive for me. NICE BIKE MAN 😎
@NJBoden2 жыл бұрын
Lol that’s not too personal at all. 6 foot even 225 pounds. Nice thing about the Vstar bikes is that they aren’t very high off the ground so even though we aren’t the same height, I’m sure you won’t have a problem flat footing it at a stop light. If you plan on doing a lot of highway riding it’ll have enough weight to ward off crosswinds and a powerful enough engine to cruise smoothly :)
