I own a 2004 Yamaha V-Star 1100. Great all around bike for low cost of ownership. Reliable, stable and comfortable. You can’t beat a 1100 Yamaha especially for the little money they cost. I totaled my 2015 -950 v-star hitting a deer while riding to work in the early morning, on 10/20/2021. I also own a 2015 750 Honda Shadow Aero. Bought the 1100 this summer with 7000 miles for $2000. Can’t beat it!!! I like having two bikes in case one is sidelined. I’m a family man who can’t afford a $25,000 bike. The Inexpensive Japanese bikes are just if not more fun!!! Enjoy and Go Bills!

Great review and Tasmania looks just beautiful and empty roads. I had the xvs650 back in 2000 and now thinking of the 1100 in 2024.

Hey mate, i have the xvs650 and xvs1100 and the 1100 is a great step up, familiar but more torque and grunt. Dont think you will be disapointed with one.

I own a V Star 650 and couldn't be happier with it. A '98 and she's been rode hard and put away wet. (I'm not much of a clean freak). However, my only complaint is she's geared too low. That's why I'd like to move up to an 1100 and Bob out my 650 with a kit from Blue Collar Bobbers. Tour with the 1100 and hot rod around with the 650. One of the advantages of going with V Star's is you can acquire two for less than the price of one Harley. Simply awesome bang for the buck ! PS, I enjoyed taking that ride with you. Funny isn't it ? When we're not riding were watching people ride on you tube. Kooky !
@iRidetas5 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, in my experience they are far more reliable than the harley sportster I had, go well and look great and are easily modified. Glad you enjoyed and I think it's a bike thing, if youre not riding watch a riding video!! Cheers

The "hpercharger" is just a good looking air filter housing, no need to be concerned about rejectin the carb on its account as it doesn't change your fuel/air, horse power or torque unless you also put a free flow air filter in, you might need to reject, and will need to if you open up your exhaust in some way.

SIIIIIIICK! Bloody beautiful motorcycle brother! The extras you have on it have it looking mint, not that the V Star's don't already out of the box. She certainly does seem to have some grunt and yeah the torque is awesome on these bikes. I'm sure you're loving this bike, and will do for years to come. While I was considering Harley as a next bike when I'm off my restrictions, I'm being pulled more each day towards a bigger version of Stella like this one you have.

+Phat Cruiser Dont let my experience put you off HD and your dream man a new hd would be awesome and the dealer techs can fix it. They just scratch there head and charge like a wounded bear on an old one. So much bike for a third the value of a hd was the deciding factor for me! Extras are worth a faif bit so nice i dont have to put them on! 😆😎

My Vicky is a 2000 with 15378 miles original... Runs like New better ride than my last harley electra glide 2007 48,000 on her. Full dress 1000 lbs vs 700 vstar 1100 classic... Older now and this ride is the one for me for many years to go... 200 miles no problem with stress on body or tired ness ...

I’ve got the same problem with mine, that big ass seat. It’s a heavy bike no doubt. But it feels nice riding down the road.
@iRidetas Жыл бұрын
I put a custom seat on it by drilling a new hole in the rear guard and that was better, it now has a highway hawk bobber seat on it and its better again

I got a 96 Virago xvs1100. Love it, ride it daily. Wonder how these two compare. I took straight pipes off mine and went back to stock. What I read besides needing to rejet to avoid too lean is that the Virago depends some on back pressure of the cat/chamber. Mine still has air injector sytem intact but read others remove it. That and I like to sneak out for a morning ride in the wee hours. One additional thing, get the Duneli Soundbomb airhorn. Saved my neck many times, very worth it...!!!!!
@iRidetas5 жыл бұрын
The cobra pipes on mine make it. I love them! Ive never had an issue with the air fuel but they were on it when i bought it. I also havent removed the AIS as it runs well as is a didnt want to mess with it to much! Cheers mate

I basically tell people..... if you like Harleys buy a Harley.... if you like motorcycles... buy a motorcycle There are much more reliable and less costly cruisers than Harleys around.

@tomparker30202 жыл бұрын
I know it's been awhile since you posted this but if you disable to AIS it will get rid of the backfire/popping. It's designed for the stock pipes and you don't need it for the aftermarket
@iRidetas2 жыл бұрын
Removing the AIS is not a panacea solve all in my experience. Its still requires proper jetting for the hypercharger or pods that you decide to run!

Good video thanks. I've just started looking for a cruiser (over a 1000cc) not too heavy and this could be the bike. I'm a bit confused with the different types advertised as XVS 1100 Classic, Custom etc. The wheels seem to be different sizes on the models. I would prefer the wider smaller front wheel. Could you comment on this. Thanks Graham. Bundaberg.

Cheers mate! Im not a big guy and i flick this around no worries! Classic = smaller front, full dresser guards, more chrome Custom = larger front, factory short guards and less chrome depending on year. Sounds like you would like a classic

Nice bike, I’m thinking of getting one when I pass my test and trade in my xvs 125, which is also a nice bike but with a top speed of 60 long distances can be an ordeal, just like the idea of a big engine really, just for fun cycling. Thanks fella.

Nice purchase their!! I was given one for the 2010 toyrun(?), Good all-round bike from Stable slow-riding to Scraping floor boards round the twisties. I'm sure you'll get Lots of 'reliable' K's outta her. Any custom work in the future? I can see a Chopped-Down seat...Oh and it needs to be louder too imo :P TFS & uRSOT iRide. Now I gotta decide, when I come to Tassie, do I bring the Adv. Bike or the Cruiser... >:D
@iRidetas7 жыл бұрын
+MrFalloffalot CrashTestDummy TV haha or both 😉 it seems from what ive read a different framed and heavy version of yours!! Yup going to do a few custom things, maybe another bobber variant im thinking. Love the stripped down minimalist look! There are still baffles in the pipes so..... 😉 looking forward to using it to do a few miles and go further afield and get to that big island!!
@MrFalloffalot7 жыл бұрын
Similar, but better distribution of 'scale' on the frame. The Virago's were too short imo. Think Sporty vs Dyna Glide in wheel base. I've seen a Heap of XVS's stripped, modded, etc., they do Custom-Up nicely. I'm sure the Border Patrol will let you in, just leave the apples at home though... >:P
@iRidetas7 жыл бұрын
+MrFalloffalot CrashTestDummy TV lol ill keep that in mind 😉 the sporty i had was nice in weight distribution and length just massively unreliable. The other thing ive found is that on a lot of cruisers the front brake is there for decoration but this thig PULLS UP for a cruiser which is awesome! Ive seen a couple of 650s that looked cool so the 1100 will look cool and go. Hoping that invite is still open if i come over!?!?
@MrFalloffalot7 жыл бұрын
Mi casa es su casa. Plenty of grass here to Pitch a Tent (or in the spare room). Err, if you look at the standard pics of the Virago 1100, it has x2 discs on front. Took one off for looks (dont tell the roadworthy guy...lol). ViragoTech forum had a topic on it. Apparently they were Over-Braked anyway. I'd rather a spoked 21" rim on it. But that's up to $2k for an entire fr/end :(
@iRidetas7 жыл бұрын
+MrFalloffalot CrashTestDummy TV 😂😂 nice. Its like me cutting the shit out of the front guard on the virago 250 we had then spending about an hour putting the little rubber spray guard back on so i could argue no officer thats how it comes standard!! :D exactly same offer here for your trip to tassie! Not sure of the similarities or differences between xvs1100 and xv1100 front but this was a fairly simply looking 21inch conversion i was looking into 21 front woild look amazing www.starbikeforums.com/forums/19-wheels-tires/85409-21-harley-front-wheel-conversion-done.html#/topics/85409?page=1
