Magnet on a stick also works really well to get the spark plugs out 👍😎

Yep, for you guys it will hit hard back there. But going to start Winterizing here soon mainly because doing it in the rain sucks. I just got done spraying the exterior of the house today with new paint. Now just trim left and the garage door. I'll spray the door since its fast and looks better sprayed. After that Winterizing. Oh my big project coming up will be relacing my diesel truck injectors and upper fuel tubes. Will do a multi part video series on that for sure👍

TIP... I buy new plugs every other season. I swap out my "newest" plugs with the ones from the previous season PRIOR TO FOGGING my engine so that I can get at least 2 seasons out of my new plugs. Using the OLD plugs prevents me from getting fogging oil on my newest plugs. Plugs can get pricy changing them out after only 5-6 months of use. Then I pay a certified tech to winterize my ski. They spray the fogging oil into the intake while the engine is running until the engine cuts off. THEN he takes out the plugs and uses the remaining oil to coat the cylinders before replacing the old plugs. In addition - he sprays the engine compartment down with WD-40 and coats the Rubber Engine Gasket with Yamalube. They do not use Antifreeze in the ski. My 2012 FX-SHO does not require it because water is not retained in the engine but if it makes you feel better then so be it.

Is that yamaha instructed anti fogging? What about you valves and throttle bodies etc geting a coating. Guess that's why yamaha recommends their silicone lube rust inhibitor and to fogg when engine running up the breather pipe completely covering all internal components. I'll stick to Yamaha's workshop manual thanks

@@bucksgarage1 awesome..hopefully I can get this diagnosed quickly. I just picked up the same machine out of an auction. It’s a very clean machine with only 36 hours on it. Put a brand new battery in it and fresh fuel. When I go to start the machine, the gauge cluster functions and I hear nothing but the bilge pump running. It did not come with the fab transmitter, does this machine have to be unlocked first to start?
@bucksgarage1

@DeJac mine doesn't have a fob. My older yamaha does require a start up code which is ABCA.

@@bucksgarage1 thanks for the help. This machine is a 2007 FX Cruiser HO. The “L-Mode” is illuminated and not the “Unlock” . Maybe I’ll start with getting a new fob through the dealer and try that out

When your running it to run the coolant through it theres the little hole on the side for the cylinder head flow and stuff should it come out the side there as your running it? How do you know you've got it all the way thru the head?
@guerraf117
@guerraf117 3 жыл бұрын
Maybe you need more than one gallon of antifreeze to see it coming on the side, when you hook the water hose it takes a little while to see water coming on the side, so it's more than one gallon, but one gallon should be enough

I normally use 1 gallon. Its probably not necessary, but for a little piece of mind and 3 dollars I think it's worth it.
