I remember staring at my odometer to watch my old Honda CG tick over to 10k miles and almost riding straight into the back of someone.... good times

I had a 1st gen boxeye fazer 6 and it was an absolutely incredible bike as an all rounder. 60L top box, comfy as hell, 100bhp, 60mpg, dirt cheap insurance and every single MOT tester commented on how nice it sounded with the Micron can. Sold it at 65k miles after encountering the motor's major issue (only on the early ones) - paper mache gearbox. I stripped and replaced gears twice in the 38k I did on that thing but man it was lush to own aside from that

Right under 72k miles on my 2009 FZ6R here in the States. A decade of ownership has been practically flawless. Great bikes!

Bought one only last Sunday and first nice thing I experienced about it is it's great low down torque. Have been at work all week and of course it gets to my first weekend to go and have a play and it pisses it down all weekend but I think I'm going to like this bike. Great video.

I myself have ridden an xj6 and I really did like the bike, in fact I was going to buy one but at the time I had too many bikes. It’s a great all rounder bike that’s what makes it fun!

Wow 60k on Divi 👏 I'm glad you managed to get it on camera Spicy. I've never ridden an XJ6 but I did have the old Fazer fz6 steel frame big heavy thing detuned r6 motor poor suspension but excellent excellent fun. I scraped pegs everywhere on it and absolutely loved the bike of course it was carburetted not fuel injection which is a plus with the XJ6. I'd say in general Yamaha knows how to make a good bike that's reliable and fun.

Sorry I must point out the old fz6 is the thunder cat engine I got confused with the fz6 s2 model that's a r6 engine my apoglies.

Congratulations to you and divvy. I'm only on 14k so plenty of life left. I miss the insane acceleration of my 2 previous hornets but love how this can drive slow very easily ❤

Interesting you said it wasn’t well received when it came out, having ridden for 50 years and owning WAY too many motorcycles, it seem the ones I enjoyed the most were the ones that didn’t get great reviews when they were released 🤔!? They just turned out to be really good motorcycles 😉👍.

moving up to my A2 and I’ve been looking to try get quoted on a zx4rr mainly for the sound and then I found out about this bike and was sold. It’s cheap to buy surprisingly cheap to insure and has the sweet spot of power where it’s not too fast that you can’t push it on the street but also not too slow that your constantly wanting more. Also helps that because it’s a cheaper bike I’m less nervous to push it and from the amount of money I saved from the zx4rr I can bin 3 xj6s before I would have spent the same 😂.

i sold my 2013 FZ6R with only 13,000 miles, traded for a 2013 speed triple 1050R, but i still miss my FZ every single day, it was such a fantastic bike, im looking to hopefully find it again since its been 7 years since i saw it last, or buy another one similar soon. for reference i have a '22 speed triple 1200RS, a '19 S1000R, a '79 honda CBX 1050, a '17 Z650, and a '17 Z125 pro. even with that fleet of incredible bikes i still want to own another FZ6R.

I use a previous model diversion xj600n 1999, 65k and still going strong as a workhorse. Well built and a simple machine, all the fixes over the years have cost relatively little.

My old 2007 FZ6 got to 120k miles before a white van killed it, engine ran fine in all those miles, hopefully you can get the XJ6 to the same miles.

I got a 2012 XJ6 Diversion S with ABS for a little over 2 years. I have to say it gives me a smile everytime i start it (even if i still got the stock exhaust, police in Barcelona are particularly sensitive with non homologated exhausts) Everyday bike, goes well in town and also did some touring with the wife and the topcase (longest trip about 1500km) Likes: +4º Ignition advance mod is really easy to do, basically free if you file down the original crown A2 limitator plate si held on by 2 screws from factory, you just flip it around and you got the 78hp Second hand price (paid 3400e with 24.000km in 2023) cheap spare parts good access for service easy to maneuver good wind protection progressive power comfortable 60-70degree position topcase support is from aluminium and integrated with the passenger handles really big seat Dislikes: exhaust looks like it was designed to withstand a nuclear blast, not really a 600cc sound rear shock is a little bit entry level The only thing that failed and had to fix was a leaking fork seal and clutch cable Improvements: 4º Ignition advance Aluminium back sprocket, DID 520 with new oem front sprocket Short plate holder Battlax s23 tyres removed center stand integrated Puig signals Double windshield Oxford heated grips heated seat Crash pads OEM Having a hard time finding a reason to sell it and buy something different.

Ive had an XJ6 for 6 months as my 1st big bike and spicy definitely influenced my choice. Im only 5'6" so its perfect high wise. Such a fun, comfortable, easy bike to ride. As spicy has mentioned previously, it gets HOT, the stock exhaust is embarrassing, wind screen is useless and it's not great 2 up. Im keeping it for another 6 months and then Ill decide if im going to spend money on a new screen and exhaust or trade it for a tiger 800. Time will tell but im very happy with it as a 1st big bike.

My Suzuki SFV650 has 59,000 on it, and still rides beatifully. A total work horse! What sort of mileage can you expect from yours? Mine is apparently good for upto 100,000 on average, so lets hope for many more years of service yet!

My Xj6. Is white with a full faring. It is really stable and the engine is great. Comply and great wind protection with a puig screen. However it is heavy and there is very little feel to the front wheel. My confidence in leaning it over seems to be getting worse. A while ago you did some work on the forks as you said yours had gone off. Other KZbinrs seem to be able to scrape the pegs . I am far from that. Please furnish me with your evangelical wisdom.

All mine needed was a good service and fork oil change kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6Kld2iMgq59e7csi=qcSnHYfu-znDksTj As for scraping pegs, they must have much better roads there than here lol
