so I got my new Bendix in (the other had some chipped teeth) and now it cranks for about a second and abruptly stops like it gets jammed. cannot find any info on this problem. any ideas? battery is new. now I'm wondering why the last Bendix had chipped teeth in the first. and if it's not normal for the Bendix to pull out without removing the flywheel, how is that possible!?? appreciate your help you really know your stuff! love your vids too!

I would suspect worn teeth on the flywheel. Any shiny parts on the teeth? They are bad. Make sure the flywheel key isnt worn also. I did a video on a kawasaki that had a bad flywheel with worn teeth. I dont know much compared to real jet ski mechanics and I certainly do things the hard way most of the time. Thanks for watching

I was able to pull my Bendix gear out without removing the flywheel on my WaveRunner xlt1200. is this normal and if not what could be the problem??

Remember, my experience is limited to the engines I have worked on. My gp1200 I was able to do the same. I havent built a xlt1200 engine yet so they may all be able to be pulled without removing the flywheel. You still have to pull the flywheel to change the crank seal. To answer your question. Nothing is wrong with yours.

@@ShadetreeJetski Thanks for responding! stupid question but is changing the crank seal required?

@@RonKoenig I would never build an engine without replacing the seals.
