Those are very nice and rugged 👍 however, I had a TMD( TM Designworks ) plastic/synthetic type of skid plate in my 2015 KTM 350 EXC - F that I really liked A LOT ! The advantages to it was 1. Lightweight 2. Flexible yet resilient and resistant to breaking/ cracking . 3. The manufacturing process impregnates the material with a lubricity type of silicone that allows the skid plate to ‘slide’ over obstacles ( namely rocks , which generally will drag and scrape and hang up on metal / aluminum types) 4. The best part I like was that they do not echo back at you with engine vibration noise , no buzzy pinging sounds that ALL metal plates do . 5. It was well ventilated with sufficient drain holes , and a oil drain plug access hole that was perfectly aligned for easy oil changes without having to remove it for engine maintenance chores 6. and it was form fitted to wrap up around both sides of the engine case to protect the water pump and drive sprocket side from impacts and did not impede with the foot brake or gear shifter. 7. Repels mud and debris instead of building up like metal plates do . Dam ! I should be a salesman for TMD LOL 😂 But , either way , definitely, put on a skid plate for peace of mind .
