You are partially correct. Some of the parts are interchangeable and some are not. The single largest is the horsepower (I don't know the conversion to kilowatts), but you should understand the percentage difference. The 250 was rated just under 30 HP and the R3 is 37. For a bike that light, the horsepower difference is substantial.

D. Paul League Do you mean the hp on dyno? As I'm pretty sure the manufacture listing for R25 is at 36 and R3 is at 41/42hp

Yes, I should have said dyno, because BHP is always a gimmick. The old school uses .8 to establish a dyno HP to BHP. ex: 37 dyno would equate to approximately 46 BHP.

D. Paul League Seems like yamaha is a bit modest on their specs. Pretty sick to have a 320cc giving out 46 nonetheless.
