Here are my results of what the Polini Big Bore Kit can do on a 4 Stroke (4T) Yamaha Zuma 50 (BWs for the rest of the world lol)
Here’s a list of all the parts in put in it.
Polini 66cc BBK
Polini Performance Air Filter
Polini Variator with 6.9g Rollers
Malossi 13/44 Up Gears (Transmission)
Malossi White Contra Spring (1000 RPM)
Koso 1000 RPM Clutch Springs
It does have a higher top speed than showed in the video. I ran out of road. this also has the same engine as the Yamaha C3 aka Vox aka Giggle as the 2007-2011 models.
The Yellow Malossi Contra spring wasn’t working well and I also took out the Malossi Racing X Belt after about 100 miles and stock belt actually gave me a 2 MPH increase.
On flat I’m going about 47-48 MPH and down a big hill I have GPS’d it at 54.4 MPH and still not hitting the Rev Limiter when before the kit I would hit it at 43.3 MPH. I’m gonna try Dr Pulley Sliders in the future. If you have any questions then feel free to comment and I’ll answer them as soon as I can. Thanks.

i also gonna try to tune my yamaha neos 4T,i already have malossi variator,malossi spring,and little springs 1000rpm,and flatout its 60km/h,i had hittet 80km/h but down the hill,so i think the only good solution is to buy polini or malossi transmision gears

Awesome video. I've got a 2015 Vino and suffer from the same slow speed/acceleration. It's still really fun and I love it, but I need to better keep up with traffic. I've been looking into big bore kits and am gravitating toward either the 70cc or 75cc, but I wonder if I have to get a head at that point. I will definitely have to get a fuel controller to give more fuel, but I wonder if I have to get the head with the bigger valves too. What made you choose the 66cc? Seems like a noticeable improvement, but I bet you're running a bit lean. Have you checked your plug? Did the new rollers make a difference? I'm super stoked about doing this to my Vino!

hybridorbital85 Thank you, and yes your vino has the same engine as the 2012+ Zuma’s so all these parts would work for you. I haven’t checked my spark plug but I probably am running I bit lean because I also have a better Polini Air Filter installed so I just switched my engine on/off 3 times rapidly within one second to reset my ECU. There’s no 70cc kits for these engines but there is a 75cc kit that comes with the head. It’s by SSP-G I believe and maybe one other company and both around $450 and yes you’d need a fuel controller. I went with the Polini cuz I got it for $250 and came with the fuel regulator so I didn’t have to buy a fuel controller. The malossi BBK is also 66cc but more expensive and has a complicated fuel controller. I also was told the Polini and Malossi kits were 70cc but found out later that they’re both 66.4cc

And the rollers are 6.9g so it still accelerates faster than when it was stock but I am gonna try 4.5g sliders and 6g sliders to see which ones will be best as well as some 130/90-10 Michelin Bopper tires for smoother rides and possible speed increase

How has your cylinder held up? I have the same kit but the gasket that came with it between the crankcase and cylinder failed causing nearly all the oil to leak out, which caused the piston to seize damaging it and the cylinder wall. I had to carry it back home 8 miles in 90+ degree weather. By the way, Kitaco sells a fuel injector that you can just plug in for the Jog 4T, which uses the same engine as the Zuma 50F. I was able to install the Polini regulator but it's difficult and not worth the risk of damaging the fuel pump.

I haven’t had any issues with mine. I switched to the Charmo 75cc kit and that was a nightmare. It kept overheating. Switched back to my polini kit along with a fuel controller and the polini fuel regulator and still no issues. It over heated one time during its first few months but hasn’t again. And the was summer 2018 that I had it installed. I still drive it. Just drove it around the other day. Top speed down hill was 60 MPH GPS confirmed but I usually do 45-50 on smooth flat roads with no head wind

@@WetnwildhjReturns I was thinking about getting one of the 75cc kits but decided to port the stock head instead. I think my problem may have been not adding a crankcase breather to the oil fill plug, which caused the pressure to build and the oil to leak. By the way, Dog House makes a bottom drain plug cooler for the S-Max that fits the Zuma 50F. I just got mine in a week ago.

Michael Woodcock yeah but are you doing 47 GPS or just reading your speedometer? Cuz the speedometers are 3-5 mph generous and very inaccurate. Also I’m not hitting my top speed in the video. I’m only running it for like 30 seconds and it takes my scooter a full minute to reach top speed

Michael Woodcock my indicated top speed on the speedometer is a mystery to me because my speedo gets buried lol but god on flat is usually 47-48. I can do 51 on flat for awhile after I’ve come down a hill but my very top speed downhill is 57 mph GPS

@@WetnwildhjReturns i just did the polini variator on mine. Gps top speed is 49mph, other direction 45, so 47mph average top speed. Slow acceleration compared to you tho, would you do all your mods again? I'm very much considering them
@WetnwildhjReturns
@WetnwildhjReturns 4 жыл бұрын
So doing the big bore kit with the Variator and new up gears my speed can reach 55 mph but that never happens on flat. The big bore kit is good if you want to give your scooter faster acceleration and up gears for more speed down hill but the gears won’t affect your speed on flat land. 49 mph is good if you ask me. It’s not worth all the money to go a little faster down hill lol but it is more fun flying down back roads at 55 on this little scooter

If you’ll buy a Dr. Pulley Jog50cc 2T Variator Kit and open the hole in its Gear Plate, to fit the Outside Diameter your engine’s crankshaft. Then run 6gr Dr Pulley Sliding Weights. Your engine will run 1,000 rpms slower, with everything else staying the same! My 66cc Yamaha Scooter runs 52mph @ 8,600 rpms nowhere near the 9,100rpm limiter! Gabe 😎🇺🇸💕

There is no point in trying to tune a small 4 stroke. It's hopeless. You can't gold plate a turd. It's a boat anchor and always will be. Either get a 2 stroke Zuma, or a Genuine Roughhouse. Both have Minarelli engines and there are a lot of things you can do to get them above 50 mph and much better acceleration, plus give them a wonderful sound.
