Just a small detail I wanted to share. In the anime, Kenpachi states that Sternritter Q was boring so he killed him. However in the manga, Sternritter R's power had knocked out his hearing so when he encountered Berenice, he actually couldn't hear him which is why his powers didn't work. For this reason, I always thought the manga was funnier in this moment.

Remember, Grimmjow didn't just fall in rank, he literally lost his status as an Espada entirely from losing an arm, and up until Orihime restored his lost arm, he never dared to challenge Luppi's weak a** despite all that sh*t-talking. In this fight as well, Yamamoto mentioned that 1,000 years ago, he didn't even use his full Bankai. He didn't absorb the Flames into the tip, he just released the Bankai partially back then. Yes, Yhwach would've lost 1,000 years ago even with his schrift, since back then he hadn't evolved it into 3 pupils yet... And with the 2 pupils(4 for both eyes), he could only see the future like Jugram, not manipulate Fate. And currently, if he had the 2 pupils, he'd still have lost without having Lloyd bait Yamamoto into releasing his Bankai and then getting fatigued from suppressing it's power with his own body so as not to destroy the Soul Society. And even the, when Yamamoto decided to re-release his bankai, Yhwach who is as full health and fresh stamina didn't want to risk losing and stole his Bankai. And the likelihood that he actually would've lost or barely won is proved by the fact that a very fatigued and drained Ichigo actually managed to land a decent hit on him, and in the anime - even keep up with him for a while. Fullbring Bankai Ichigo is not as strong as halft strength bankai Yamamoto, let alone a drained Bankai Ichigo. Everything about these two points to Yamamoto being the stronger one, be it 1,000 years ago or the present day. Yhwach only beats Yamamoto with 3 pupils, the same way he beat Manake Osho. Osho thought that the schrift hadn't evolved, and didn't even know the kind of power it had. That's why he was confused and irritated when he couldn't hit Yhwach in their final clash. TLDR: They were both Handicapped the two times they fought, so that doesn't mean anything.

We know from his fight with Ichibei that the number of pupils he has is first and foremost irrelevant when it comes to nullifying powers and there's also not a single instance of it ever being stated that Yhwach had to "evolve" his Almighty to have more pupils in neither the manga nor the novels. All we know is that if he'd unleashed his Almighty before the 9 years he'd have risked it going out of control and taking all of his Quincie's powers. When Yhwach and Jugram gave a description of his power it was when he was only using two pupils. Your assumption that he somehow had to "evolve" the Almighty is baseless and backed by no canon statements in the manga nor from Kubo. Yhwach never once said that he couldn't alter the future if he didn't have a certain amount of pupils. His Almighty was so powerful 1000+ years ago that only a limb of the soul king could temporarily seal it. Also Ichibei said nothing about his Almighty evolving either so I don't know where you got that from. What we do know for sure is that... 1. Yama never fought a full power Yhwach regardless of whether Yama was a full power himself. 2. With the Almighty as it was upon him opening his eyes vs Ichibei he negated his Zanpakto completely. 3. Ichibei is out of Yamamoto's weight class. With these three things in mind there's no possible way you could come to the conclusion that Yamamoto would have defeated Yhwach with the Almighty.

If youre an anime only fan you might not know just how crazy zanka Notachi south truly is. In the anime they dont explain what the name/description of the technique is. It doesnt reanimate a few hundred ash demons, its trillions of them. It's meant to be a perfect offense & defense (similar to zankt zwingwer the ultimate quincy move that combines offense and defense) Yama uses Offensively by commanding trillions of them to attack a target, they’ll never stop chasing the target till its dead. They wear his opponents down by attrition, because even if you kill a hundred of the ash spawn with every swing of your sword, you will die from exhaustion before you even kill 1% percent of them total. Then if that wasn’t op enough, he uses a trillion of them for defense as well, they surround him 360% and intercept all incoming attacks from opponents. Its truly mind melting how powerful his bankai is.

btw the "y" and "r" are twins. Manga went over their backstory just for a moment. One twin can change his appearance to whomever he touches. The other one can replicate the powers of whomever he touches. So the one with powers replicated his brothers ability to change appearance, that twin then touched Yhwach. Yhwach's name is based on the biblical name of God that was revealed to Moses in the book of Exodus, YHWH, pronounced as Yahweh/Jahweh (there are some other versions, but these are the most well known and accepted), sometimes shortened to just Yah/Jah, and basically means "He Will Be". Regarding the Loyd and Royd twins, their powers were explained more in the manga but they were extremely confusing even there and it's not until relatively recently that Kubo explained them in understandable detail in an interview. The twin who fought Kenpachi had the power to copy roughly 60% of someone's mind (a flawed impersonation) but 100% of their power and abilities. The twin who posed as Yhwach had the power to copy 100% of someone's mind (making him a perfect impersonator) and roughly 60% of their power and abilities. The "Yhwach" who got shitstomped by Yamamoto was **literally** a complete copy of Yhwach using Yhwach's actual abilities at about 60% of his current power, meaning Yamamoto did actually stomp Yhwach in a straight fight at this point in time and Yhwach won by stealing his bankai and striking after he was weakened, with it being strongly suggested he couldn't have done so without wearing him down with his clone first. (Furthermore, one of the novels state that a person's primary reiatsu output is in their arms and losing one is a massive hit to your power, hence why Grimmjaw wasn't even strong enough to be an Espada anymore after losing one, and Yamamoto likewise only has one arm in this fight.) At this point in time, Yamamoto > Yhwach but neither has fought the other at their actual full power since Yamamoto's handicapped and "Yhwach" was a clone at 60% of the original.

Let me explain a certain issue as I did with Quilge under your previous film because in the following episodes they do not explain it, namely Zaraki Kenpachi killed 3 Sternritters with the power of "R" Jerome Guizbatt, "Q" Berenice Gabrielli and the most important "Y" Loyd Lloyd but there were two Sternritters with the power of "The Yourself" i.e. with the letter "Y" i.e. twin brothers Loyd Lloyd and Royd Lloyd and their powers were similar but not the same because while both transformed into their opponents or allies Loyd also transformed his entire strength into the strength of the one he was transforming into and also had the same skills and capabilities and Royd could not do that but had the entire memory, memories and experience of the entity he was transforming into but considering that Royd without Yhwach's strength but only with his knowledge and memory was able to defeat Zaraki and match Yamamoto's pace for a moment the original Yhwach had to strengthen Royd significantly before ordered him to impersonate him and that's why Yamamoto thought he was fighting Yhwach throughout the fight because Royd showed knowledge of Yamamoto's bankai and knew many other details that he showed or said.

yhwach is the official out of the many transcriptions of the name from japanese to english one unofficial way its spelt is Juha Bach, and japanese people pronounce it yoo-ha-ba-kha, due to its official transcription being YHWACH the dub opted to pronounce his name like the japanese since they didn't question the how yhwach turns into yoohabakha, but a more correct version to pronounce it in english would be yoo-ha-back with the a in back being pronounced like the a in watch
