Also, I have a theory that Yamato was specifically written to distract people from Carrot, because she was designed to appear as a superior version of Carrot: As soon as Carrot started getting less screentime and failing, Yamato started getting more screentime and succeeding. Yamato's primary color is White, same as Carrot. Yamato has a mystical transformation that thematically matches the moon, same as Carrot. Yamato rubbing her face against Luffy as a greeting after he wakes up, same as Carrot. Yamato was grouped with Luffy and Chopper to pig out on free food at the festival, same as Carrot on WCI. Well the fun may be over, but the story will go on. Egghead is being the most refreshing arc that we have had in like a decade, and I am enjoying myself thoroughly! Regarding Yamato VS Carrot, call it cope or whatever, but it is quite clear to me that one of these characters have a thoroughly written beginning, middle and end, whilst the other is currently unceremoniously left behind without a satisfying ending to her name. If that means anything or not, that is all up to Oda, and I for one will be patient and believe that he is doing what is the best for the story going forwards.

If we wanted to make a proper headcanon take she most likely is saying she wants to experience the Land of Wano before she sets out to sea in her own way with no mention of joining the crew. This is why she discusses wanting a tour of the country and says she will find her own way to sea. She's been living in the land of Wano as a captive all of these years and never even got to see the Land of Wano and so she most likely cares more about that over joining the crew. We most likely will see her again but never join the crew fully.

Any thought that she was actually joining the crew was cope. Her Zoan type is the Guardian of Wano and let's be real, no one else is strong enough to defend Wano. That was guaranteed when an admiral rolled up and bodied the samurai. On top of that, the straw hats already picked up new muscle with Jimbei they don't need another. Adding more crew members will just make it harder to have each one do something satisfying. I mean shit, Oda cut the crew in half for Dressrosa and Whole Cake to avoid that issue.

I never found her as endearing as the rest of the internet did, and outside of her telling Luffy to let join, she never came off as a likely candidate for the next crewmate. During the raid, she spends most of her time with Momo and her interactions with the Straw Hats are brief. After the reveal of zoan devil fruits having their own will and that they are drawn towards those who match that will, I wasn't surprised at all to hear that Yamato chose to stay in Wano.

I'm finding more reasons Carrot is joining while finding less for everyone else, especially Yamato. Came across a reminder that snipers (like Usopp) partner with spotters, who allow the sniper to move position and give locations of targets to the sniper. Would be very fitting for Pizarro/Augur to team up that way. Also, we've been spending so much time in Kuma's flashbacks I don't think anyone knows what happened to Caribou, the Blackbeard ship, or the Sunny... seriously, where did the ship go and is it safe?

Better observation haki? I am most likely wrong, but I would like to imagine one could use it in another way. I highly doubt Oda will write this into his story, however? What if one could use observation haki to mask their presence? Sort of like "Zetsu" from "Hunter X Hunter"? Akira Toriyama did something similar, when he had the Z-Fighters suppress their power levels throughout the earlier parts of DBZ. Please note that I am *not* making this argument to support my agenda. This is a question asked in earnest. Even if Carrot never joins, I would like to see Oda expand on what all you can accomplish with his haki power system.

I knew Yamatrash simp roast video was coming😂 Oh yeah, the wano ending filler Oda probably has input on Carrot's goodbye, so no hidding in barrel or something like that apparently. She did get the travel the seas like she initially wanted, but Pedro's will.. she'll probably lead the Minks in the final war joining the Strawhats and the Grandfleet and see the dawn of the new world. There's a chance Oda had Carrot planned to join the crew, but Oda probably changed his mind as the time goes and had plan for her in the future as the leader of the Minks instead to join battle in the final saga. Looking forward to see her again. Also at this point I don't think we'll be getting anymore Strawhats, what do you think?

I really love the character and how she fit into the story but I do agree that despite so much potential , Yamato really didn't have anything to contribute to the crew just like Vivi. Yamato's situation really can not be tied to Jinbe's in any way, and I am tired of this argument. Jinbe wanted to join the Straw Hats after realizing just how incredible Luffy is, but he could not as long as his crew were tied down to Big Mom. So he would come around to help whenever possible, but he kept up with his responsibilities until he could finally sever his ties without putting his crew in danger. Yamato realized that her place was together with Momonosuke on Wano, both to support the son of the man she admired most in the World, and to keep Wano safe from invaders like her father effectively did before her. So it's not as simple as her just deciding to up and leave for her own selfish reasons.

The country of the people she admires the most in the world, by the way. Wano fell to ruin because Oden abandoned it to follow his own selfish desires, a mistake Yamato probably does not want to repeat. Jinbe had a clear end goal to reach. He could leave as soon as his crew was safe from Big Mom. Yamato is not in a similar position. Wano being kept safe is a continuous deal. Vivi stayed behind in Alabasta Kingdom for similar reasons, and they are both considered Honorary Straw Hats. Members that were invited to join, but did not do so due to personal reasons. Vivi's situation is more up in the air now that she has been forced to leave, which is why people are so sure that she will finally join after all these years. Why would Yamato get killed while defending Wano? This came out of nowhere. Yamato + Momo + the Scabbards are quite the force to be reckoned with. Yamato has a decision to make. Be selfish like Oden and leave Wano vulnerable, or be selfless and stay by Momonosuke's side. Yamato's wish is to be like Oden, and to be free. Her original desire to sail the seas was for her to feel free. Now she is free to make her own decisions, and she decided to stay on Wano. Sucks for Yamato fans, but what can you do? Tell her that she can not decide for herself and force her to sail with Luffy despite worrying about Wano? As for her being like Oden, doing what Oden should have done from the beginning seems like a good and respectful start to that. Yamato does not know Luffy's true dream. Only the official Straw Hats know about it, as Luffy told them after they had all left Wano behind. (Yamato stays in Wano in Chapter 1057, Luffy tells his dream to his crew in Chapter 1060) Unless I forgot a scene on Wano where Luffy told Yamato his dream before telling anyone in his actual crew, then Yamado does not know of Luffy's true dream.

I was kinda convinced after Jinbei joined that we wouldn't get a new member because by that point the crew finally found their Helmsman and every straw hat member has a role on the ship. Yamato is the only one that wouldn't fit these conventions. I actually struggle to see anyone joining the crew because most roles are filled and even if they did join they would need an exclusive role on the ship. I think you're 100% right people see a strong/cool character and immediately want them but that doesn't necessarily fit the story. Example being Vivi was a cool character but she didn't have a place on the ship so why would she join.

There is also a set of extreme outliers when it comes to particular carrot fans on either discord or Reddit. Not exactly the most pleasant individuals to say the least. Reasons we like Yamato: 1. self motivated to be an adventurer. 2. awesome backstory. 3. mature 4. Has past with Ace. 5. Powerful 6. Ebodies freedom like Lufy, Robin and Nami. Her love towards Oden and being Oden like even though she was raised by a monster is what speaks to us. I know any character that will join will be loved by most as Oda can make us like any character, I mean there are so many villains that we love now. so making carrot loved by most should be an easy task for Oda, but as of now, Yamato (Oden) feels millions of times better than Carrot. Carrot just feels like she does not even understand what is really happening. Like She is being forced to join the crew because Pedro died, I mean she would be an excellent character to join when we knew nothing of one piece world, but to see someone as clueless as we were before Alabasta just doesn't sit right with many fans like me. P.S. : Side b00bs is just an additional advantage.

Also there are more characters like Yamato who are honerary members ( Vivi and maybe Bon clay) who I think might join crew on temporary basis. There are many respected you-tubers in that list, not sure if admin will just dismiss them as side b00b lovers as well.
