As someone who owns this exact bike, I can definitely say this bike can be an "only" bike. I commute everyday with no issues. I actually prefer to commute on the bike than in my big, comfortable truck. It is a lot more fun in this bike (didn't feel as fun in my previous bike). I also use it as a weekender on curvy roads, where it is an absolute blast to ride all day on the twisty's. The farthest I've ridden it has been 2.5 hrs on highway each way, so 5 hrs total. No issues for me, even though I have a bad lower back, I just tucked and cruised at 90ish mph. Wind wasn't too much of an issue while tucked, but not having cruise control (it is a $400 option) kinda sucked. I'll probably invest on that cruise control module later on. And finally, I've also taken it to the track, where the bike feels at home. But the one thing I don't like about taking the bike to the track is the fear of crashing it. But it is an absolute blast of a bike. There probably are better bikes out there, but in this category, for this price point ($13K) I think it is the best bike. With MT-09SP being a VERY close second, except it's more upright/less sporty feel.

@@whoknows141 it really is a great bike. I’m considering a Panigale V4 as a weekender and keeping the Triple RS as a commuter/track bike or getting a dedicated track bike and the Triple RS as a commuter/weekender bike. The only two reasons I want a second bike is because of the track (you will eventually crash on track) and the other reason is because it’s never a bad idea to have more than one bike. What I am sure about is I’m NOT getting rid of the Triple. I love everything about it.

7 years into riding I picked up a used 765 RS. Freaking love it. I commute on it, ride mountian twisty escapes, and generally get around wherever. I sold an ADV bike to enjoy my riding experience more, though a better commuter and get around bike for or sure, the 765 RS makes me smile while I do it. I am looking for a vespa to add as my second ride to cruise around town on, just pure toy... and maybe errands.

Speed Triple vs Street Triple, that is the question.

Coming from an FZ1 by yamaha. The 675r street is a worthy replacement for me. Plenty enough power, far better handling and fuel economy to die for. Far less likely to lose your licence with the middle weight too

The speed triple is so fast and capable that regular old fast dangerous riding is boring…. It’s a strange bike. Incredibly nice, but…. I didn’t like it, weirdly. Still haven’t ridden a street triple, but I’ve met at least three people who prefer it over the speed. FWIW! Ride em both for a day, take notes, decide.
@davidlagno7717Күн бұрын
The Speed Triple, even the older 1050 is so much better for a one and only. The Street Trip is like a moped you gotta wring the hell out of but you never get the extreme top end hit like a Jap Inline-4. I was ready to buy a Street trip cash in hand at the dealer and I was devastated after test riding 2 of them. I took it out for about 45min and brought it to my favorite local twistie spot. The chasis is great but the motor looks so good on paper but in reality there's no surge of power. It's just a linear steady acceleration that your waiting for something to happen that never does. As specially because it sounds so awesome. I think that's why people love it so much. If you have the cash the Speed Trip is a proper beast and easy to get on with. Sounds great has the torque down low and enough ballz up top. Nothing like the top end of 2014 Z1000, but they stopped making them your talking Triumph. Don't listen to internet hype. There's always an agenda with marketing or biased opinions. You know Yami loves his Daytona's and while you have the chasis the way the motor puts out is a let-down for that kinda money.
@tyranid05Күн бұрын
In my triumph groups on Facebook i often see one asking if anyone wants to trade for the other. The speed guys say its too much for a daily, the street guys want more power. Its kind of funny actually

Fellas... ANY BIKE can be your ONLY bike! Will you always have the best tool for the job? Hell no. But don't let that stop you from having fun AND evolving as a rider. Times are hard now; having a bike is a luxury for most, having 2x, more so. You can do more then you think with the bike you already have.

Hello from New Zealand, I purchased a 2024 Street Triple in red and have had it for a year now. This is my second bike after graduating to a full license. The bike is amazing, perfect for the twisty roads here in NZ and perfect for my commute to town on the odd day for work. It lane splits, it is definitely fast enough for me, it gives me a sporty feel, i intend to track at when i get a set of leathers. Its like owning a practicle sports car(like a RS3 sedan or C63 AMG imo. sporty, quick and does the daily tasks well but unlike the audi or merc you can do it all without breaking the bank. Its a winner. Couple of things I didnt like, the exhaust os waay to quiet during group rides when everyone has exhausts so sonetimes when were all gunning it around twisties I often hit limiter because its so quiet. Track mode has to be selected every time you start it up. The dash display images all suck. Just give me a proper rev counter and it will be soo much better.
@davidlagno7717Күн бұрын
I have NOT ridden one since they bumped up the displacement, but i fed in to the hype from all the UK hype and videos around 2010 for the Street675R. On paper it looked fantastic. I test rode one at the dealer with the full Arrow set-up and factory extras. I took it to my favorite local twistie area with a few straightaways, i thought something had to be wrong with it. Seriously feels like a fast accelerating moped. Made alot of noise like it had no oil in it. I brought it back and they gave me another one to take out without any mods. It was so bland. I was pretty devastated because i was ready to buy one right there that day. Compared to the 08 600RR i had at the time it just couldn't compare. The CBR i already had a PC5 , air filter and exhaust and a 520 kit -1,+2 and i decided to just put more money into making that more comfortable. People never talk about gearing changes on 600's where it makes a night/day difference on power delivery where your gonna lose some top end speed but accelerate much faster. It makes that Supersport motor much more road friendly when your always in the sweet spot of the rev range. Anyway long story short, a Jao Supersport with adjustable rearsets and either straight or slightly raised clip-ons is so much more exciting if you need adrenaline like i do. The Street trip you REALLY gotta wring it out. Its not a Daytona 675R motor or even close in any way, shape or form besides the 3 cylinders. You know Yami loves his Triumphs and just like Harley guys you cant tell them anything bad about a Harley. If you want 3cyl get a Yamaha

I just got my license a little over a year ago so I’m taking things at a good pace for me. The 660 is my first and only street legal bike. I had a Surron the smallest one it’s not street legal lol but I got some decent street practice with it for a few months with no problems lol before i took the MSF and got my license. Then I sold it which I kinda regret it was awesome and a totally different animal than what I have now. Maybe I’ll get another in the future but wanted to free up cash for a street bike. I’ve had it since last March, so far so good overall I think it’s dope and perfect fit for me. Iv done some awesome aesthetic mods n really made it my own.

Love the triple sound. Sounds similar to my MT-09 that I owned for 2021. Had the Akra full exhaust and tune. Chefs kiss. For me although the 765 would be a cool second bike in the stall, it wouldn’t be something I would choose because of higher maintenance costs. If I was going to spend the money I would get the SP version of the MT-09 with the hearted grips.

I got my STRS as a third bike in my stable. I already have a superbike and a hypernaked and wanted something that can function as a daily, can do road trips, and most importantly can track and compete against other super sports. I hate 600cc inline 4s and didn’t want to go that route and a dedicated tourer would collect dust. Also anything sub 100 HP would put me to sleep 😴

My 08 Daytona has a 4.6 gallon tank and I have gotten as high as 46mpg (calculated) on the interstate when riding home from a track day. I know my odometer is accurate too as I have compared with GPS. It regularly gets over 40mpg. It could probably get 50mpg on highways and country roads especially if I had pumped up my tires back to road spec . That would mean close to 250 miles of range.

I came up upon a salvage title 2022 lrh model street triple for very cheap though it has 20k+ miles it runs like new and no dash lights as was dealer serviced until light accident though i hadn't planned on buying one as I wanted a cb500 at the time, it was too good of a deal to pass on. I drove it 4 hours home the acceleration is so crazy it will pull your face back and rip the snot out of your nose if you dont have the right face protection. The fastest bike i drove before this was a buell blast 500 so it was a world of difference i do keep the bike in rainmode after the first rip in sport mode as I knew I didnt need it all so that cuts 20hp down to 100 which is still more than enough i thoroughly enjoy the striple r and wont sell mine unless i got the right price as it is a well designed bike and reliable with my experiance and finally this generation most of the kinks are worked out of the machines. Im a slow bro though and a 2 bike guy i enjoy my grom just as much in different ways than the s triple r different experences totally, i enjoy blasting through neighbor hoods at 45 and cutting though cities on a minibike rather than risking it all going 145 on the highway
