Name one gymnast that has the required flexibility to do the Yang Bo nowadays.

The yang ob is the epitome of Chinese beam work. They do it so beautifully. I also feel it should be an E element even though it does not have a switch.

I love this skill! It shouldn’t be considered as a ring jump, they are completely different elements (the Bo is also more difficult in my opinion)

Fan Ye did this so gorgeously.

imo a yang bo is so much harder than a split ring jump because the back leg has to be straight and i think that's just so much harder
@benrobinson773 жыл бұрын
Did anyone notice that Yang Bo herself didn't meet the requirements in the example jump they showed? Her front leg is below horizontal and it's like that in every video I've seen, go back and watch several. Makes me wonder how they come up with such requirements.

This should be an e rated skill when done correctly. I don’t think it should be considered the sane skill as a split ring jump.

Exactly cuz the head is way lower than split ring jump
@syrilwayne Жыл бұрын
I agree, because the yang bo has no ring of the back leg but instead has an oversplit. Yes an e rate would give it justice.

From the 3 oversplit combinations (front leg, back leg, both), this is, by far, the most elegant. ✨🖤

From my favorite gymnast, Yang Bo. Such a beautiful skill.

My favorite beam skill. Simple, elegant, difficult.

Interesting... I thought the difference between a split ring and the Yang Bo was that in the yang bo the back leg had to be straight.
@gymnasticsmasterclass4 жыл бұрын
It is. They are considered the same but they have different requirements. But if you do both in a routine, it's like you're repeating an element
@syrinx1146 ай бұрын
This is harder than a switch ring because there is no forward or upward momentum from the switch leg swing. It hits a split ring just from standing. How is this rated D??!

Did Yang Bo herself achieve front leg above horizontal? I've always wondered whether she would get credit for her own skill under the scrutiny of today's rules, lol. Also agreed with everyone else, should be an E skill with these criteria.
@gymnasticsmasterclass4 жыл бұрын
From what I’ve seen, her front leg was always a little low

I always thought that a YB was supposed to be below horizontal, like a standing arched sissone. In opinion, it’s the straight diagonal shape that makes a YB so special and a treat to see.

Always wondered what the difference between this and the switch ring leap was. Now I know!
@jellocat41004 жыл бұрын
what’s the difference between this and a ring jump? Just the back leg?
@gymnasticsmasterclass4 жыл бұрын
The back leg in ring position and also the Ring Jump is not parallel to the beam

Ridiculous that Split Ring Jump and Split Ring Leap are considered 2 different skills (both given DV in 1 routine), while the Yang Bo is lumped in with the Split Ring Jump. The values and requirements of ring elements are absurd; as mentioned below, Bo's front leg never made horizontal. Where oversplit is required or shown, the front leg should be allowed to be up to 10 degrees short of horizontal. Meanwhile, the values on BB should be revised to: 1. Double Stag Ring Jump / Leap: B > C 2. Ring Leap (Diagonal Split): B > C 3. Sheep Jump: C > D 4. Ring Jump / Leap (Horizontal Split): D 5. Switch Ring Leap: E 6. Yang Bo: E
