Great video! I've been practicing for about 10 years and have recently been showing my mother how, and your video helped me see several places where I can prove my form and help with teaching her. Thank you!

Amazing revelation of key points! Thank you so much for providing this instruction and beautiful example of form. I also take note of the great stretching exercise you gave us for opening up the kwa. Will add this stretch to my practice and start working on realizing the key points you elucidate for snake creeps down, which I have difficulty with. Thanks again for taking the time to help. 🙏

Excellent teacher. Precise and calm. Too bad the video and audio are terrible.

Finally got this by steadying myself with arm on the bed behind me. It took a lot of doing it on ball of foot, then on flat foot while holding myself up and adjusting feet and externally rotating legs and knees. It's a very unfamiliar feeling for leg muscles and tendons, and takes a lot of conditioning to get to. For this reason it maybe doesn't have a place in 24 form if you're using it to gently develop chi using balance and minimal muscle exertion. I suspect it is difficult on purpose to weed out amateurs. You have to be extremely mindful to engage core and brace hard so you don't throw your back out with a flexed spine. Also be really careful with achilles tendon, don't rock back and forth from ball to flat foot. The point I want to make is that the tips about gradually scaling it until you get lower and lower aren't going to work, having done so for 10 years with no progress. It's not a scalable move until you can unlock what it feels like at the bottom.

This move is used in Sanfeng as well I haven't studied yang style in years but I recently learned a few new forms , especially Sword 42 which I find incredibly fun to practice I always warm up with Yang style

In other videos I've criticized Yang Jun's single whip form, but in this video looks much less stiff, improved balance and no longer early weighting. 3 years makes a big difference.

Can we see the snake creeps down going to golden rooster from form 15 (turn and kick with left heel) of the simplified 24, please? I don't do it from a single whip so I'm finding it hard to connect it. Thanks!

xiàshì, it's not a snake sreeps, it's "down position". So the "snake" is fictitious!
