@@ivocont I don't do flooring, so I have no experience doing it. For someone like me who might want to try it, a little slower explanation would help. I'm just someone who watches KZbin. I think I've got most of it, but there were a few parts that left me with questions. More importantly, I think there would be _a lot_ of people who would be interested in it too and I think it would get a lot of views. Just look at the number of upvotes my comment got in only 7 hours.

I have seen this method explained somewhere before and it's simpler than it looks I'm sure you can find a demonstration on KZbin. It's less intuitive than it looks and more systematic. I'm sure he's done it so many times it's completely automatic now. I want to try this myself!

Was wondering how he’s getting it perfect every time the whole video.. I figured that he’s making only 45 degree cuts, so as long as the length of the longest edge is right, the piece will fit. The left over gap because of the 45 degree cut will remain consistent at 45 degrees, which means we can keep repeating the same technique. Very smart way of working.

@@peterherrington3300 To me it looked like actual pieces of veneer. Real wood cut into thin slices for gluing onto an uglier flat material. That same style of flooring can also be done with thicker sticks of wood resting on wooden planks that form lines under the ends of all the pieces. Additional support planks are needed at the edges of the room, but the stick length should be 1.41 times the distance between planks or it'll all fall down. Oh, and if he does the edge cuts at all 4 walls, it doesn't matter where he starts as long as he has something to stand on.

@@peterherrington3300 Let me explain vinyl to you, it is exactly vinyl. Vinyl is a combination of stone powder and synthetic resin. Depending on the usage, this ratio may change, for example the type of vinyl used. for medical use in hospitals that you often see, and the type used in the other video is a type of vinyl pellets for civil use, the surface is finished with a variety of patterns to better suit the function, and they are mounted. With a water-based glue, they are applied to the floor surface and wait for the glue to dry before applying the floor. The glue surface is very sticky and the vinyl sheet cannot move. Come to Texas and look at some of the shittt they throw at you in this economy and DEMAND top dollar. I bought my house 14 years ago, it had a shingle roof. It had 3 layers of shingles on it!!!! The roofer told me, when I had him put a metal roof on. so much for quality. Before that I had another house. some of the floors had 3 layers of flooring on it. So dispense with the "America" bull shit. If you've been flipping houses, you're one of the VERY few honest ones that operate with integrity. Because as a Landlord who bought and sold houses in my life honest contractors and Flippers with integrity are very hard to come by.

I recently went back home to build a large deck. I team up with a local construction company and the guys just blew me away with their precision, intelligence and hard work! I imagine my father’s country America, use to be filled with people like this. People that would dress up even on their days off. I miss my beautiful people more n more as i get older…

It's geometry, he's using the existing flooring he already laid down to measure the angles and lengths most of the time. He lays down the slats over an earlier joint and cuts in a straight line between two corners. Or he takes the piece of flooring he's about to lay down and marks it on the reverse using his cutter.
