Is it equally as funny that the only people who seem to rebuke the criticism just so happen to be Dodgers fans? The league isn’t as healthy as it was is the 90s and the dodgers exist in a situation that is totally independent from the financial realities of the rest of the league. @ivanriverajr5012 Deferrals were not as much of a thing in the early 2000's. They're legal according to the CBA and Andrew Friedman is taking advantage of it. If other teams and fans don't like it, then do the same thing. I am not privy to what agents are doing, but the Yankees are hardly being discriminated against. That makes no sense. Agents do need to play fair, but in the end it is the players choice. Some players don't want to play in New York or the East Coast. Some players don't care. The CBA expires after 2026 season, but don't expect a lot to change or a work stoppage.

Whats funny , Before Snell signed with the Giants last year. He was looking for a longterm deal and no one wanted to offer him the contract. Even the 182 mill right now. Teams didn’t wanna give it to him but all of a sudden Dodgers said ok we’ll give u a long term contract. Everyone is up and arms about it. If the Dodgers account of it is true, it’s Ohtahni and his management team idea to defer his whole contract. It’s Ohtahni that wanted it that way because he wanted the Dodgers to commit to spend on other players. The Dodgers really ran into some good fortune here because Otahni is a marketing money maker who is now famous world wide that 700 million is an outright bargain for his rights. ………the big issue with other clubs offering players deferred money is that other players are not like Ohtahni who can make more money from marketing deals than their actual mlb contracts, so almost no one else is going to defer the percentage of their contract Otahni did.

I can understand why top players might not want to go to a team like Pittsburgh or the Angels even if the money is as good, because there's not the same chance of winning as with the Dodgers. But the owners and management of those teams in smaller markets have to be able to compete by paying what it takes. The Ohtani contract was a gift by Shohei, allowing the Dodgers to sign Yamamoto, Glasnow and others. How many players are willing to defer 90% of their salary for 10 years? My main gripe with the Dodgers is their ticket prices for the games. They charge way too much while saying how much they love their devoted fans.

The Dodgers Ownership knows how to make money. That's what they do ! They made over 100 million on Ohtani just this season ! So the 700 million isn't 💩 over 10 years. If the rest of the league wants to catch up they got to invest & reinvest it's profits 100% back to the team. Why don't the NY teams do this 🤔 they got the revenue Chicago has it too. Players like Ohtani is a investment as well as a Money Printer on what you can make off him globally 🤔👍

The Dodgers spend their money wisely and focus on ROI when investing in these high quality players, unlike other teams like for example the Angels who spend stupidly (Pujols, Hamilton, etc.). The issue is the other owners not putting out a decent product and then whining about the big spenders while accepting all that money big market teams brings in.
