Sad the only time the national media talks about baseball is when it’s about the Yankees. Orioles a fun team full of young talent. Seattle making a major playoff push since the all star break. Angels completely fell off a cliff. And that’s just the American League.

People talk about the teams they're a fan of or teams in popular markets. It's obvious. New Yorker and sports talk host Rich Eisen talks about Jets and Yankees... in other unsurprising news...

Because, sadly, baseball become less and less culturally relevant every 5 years. The only thing people nationally wanna hear about baseball is about the Yankees. It’s not the national media’s fault, it’s the fault of baseball becoming less popular over time.

@@julianbell9161 Nationwide baseball has been breaking attendance records. Tell Dodgers and Braves fans if baseball is irrelevant. Tell that to the Mariners fan. Or the fans of the Brewers or the Cubs. You New Yorkers need to travel outside of the metropolitan area of New York once in awhile. Believe it or not the world does not Center around y'all. There is a huge country outside of New York. You people are so provincial in your outlook. In case you haven't noticed baseball was becoming popular again in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. There is a reason why people don't like New Yorkers outside of New York because of your damned arrogance!

George Steinbrenner, was a fan. He treated the Yankees with that same knee jerk, reactionary temperament that most fans would, if they were in his position. That was not always a good thing. In fact, it was often to the detriment of the team. But he cared. He loved his Yankees. His sons, who have never done a thing to earn their station in life, couldn't care less. They probably resent the Yankees, having grown up with a daddy that most likely put the team ahead of them. When it comes to team owners, I'll take misguided passion, over indifference, any day. If fans want true change, they need to stop giving their hard earned money to a spoiled little rich kid. Stop going to the stadium, stop buying the merchandise, and turn off the television.

I look at the box scores, but I'm done. As long as Hal is running this team with Cashman, it won't change. Literally there is nothing they do well as an organization. Scouting, player development, draft picks, trades, etc. Other team are running circles around the Yankees with a fraction of the resources and Hal is shrugging his shoulders. My NY Yankees have become pathetic. The same thing that my NY Giants had become from 2017 until 2022 when they FINALLY realized that the entire front office and coaching staff had to go. Until Hal follows John Mara's lead, this team will continue to lose.

Unlike NY Giants’s co-owner John Mara finally realized he was besmirching his father’s Wellington’s good name and finally effected necessary changes to remove the stigma of being the NFL’s laughing stock, Hal Steinbrenner couldn’t give a hoot about his Daddy George’s legacy! Until his Yankees’s value dropped below that of the Baltimore Orioles might he do something.

Some people get better at their job when they've done it 25 years. Not Brian Cashman, though. He gets paid new contracts when managers are shown the door for producing, and 25 years later you're not allowed to talk about the dynasty unless it's to save Cashman's job...
