Hey everyone! To point something very obvious out again and since some people requested it: of course, this video was not recorded live on the spot. The audio was done in advance at my home. I was there with 2 friends and 1 single camera. In total, we made more than 8 recordings to have different angles. This video aims to be visually appealing as well and it would be completely crushed with hundreds of meters of cables lying around everywhere - this is still an electric piano. So again, what you hear is my performance, my hands playing the song. But of course, the sound was not recorded in the middle of the forrest. This fact has now lead to the first dislike of this video after almost 2 years and that kind of annoys me. It is not like I try to hide the background story of the video. Hearing “Fade to Black” in a major key is unexpected and refreshing. Even though the song’s protagonist probably goes through with his plan to ‘just say goodbye”, you can’t help but feel hope that he changes his mind, eventually

@jaketaylor81767 ай бұрын
@@BaggyPopyeah its use of the F# gives it a more G major feeling i think, as well as C in descending scales also falling into the G major scale and not within the B minor scale. The whole solo ending itself is just very uplifting.

Fits way more here here. Far more natural than in the midi, but still feels like the vocal line overshadows and crowds the piece and would be much more comfortable on a separate instrument. On an almost completely unrelated note, only connected as I see a lot of covers of harder and softer rock music on your channel, such as The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Metallica(duuh), etc. How about metal? Have you ever heard the preludium to the Therion album Theli? The piece is brilliant. On the level of some of the greats of "classical" composers. Amazing what depth a man can reach with just a few presets of an electric keyboard. Seriously. Given just one chance to show what a keyboard instrument, be it digital, percussion, or woodwind can do, I'd have a tough choice between Bach's Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor and the Preludium.
@YannickStreibert2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! I will check the mentioned artist and write you again :) But regarding metal piano covers, I have experienced limits that did not make me really enjoy certain covers. Let's just say Raining Blood by Slayer (some people did that on KZbin), with or without voice line, I cannot really enjoy that on the piano. And when it comes to very complex pieces which include many different instruments or lines, I always feel the need not to exclude something - which I totally try to avoid. That's why I never really made a cover of some of my favorite bands like Symphony X. Too much going on.

Everything sounds super good here! Only thing I suggest is lower the volume in the editing process so the higher pitch notes along with the chords that are played don’t sound in a way where it’d give ear fatigue.
@YannickStreibert3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback, but I don't really understand what you mean - maybe you have better speakers. Can you give me an example where you see the problem mostly? In the final guitar solo? I can work with the audio for sure :)
@THESONICSPEEDDEMON3 жыл бұрын
@@YannickStreibert for example the first guitar solo in the beginning. It’s at 0:37 when the volume seems a bit too high. I’m not sure if it works but maybe use some sort of compressor pedal? It’d even out the volume so no notes are louder than ours

Thank you for your nice words, happy you like it! But no: the audio is not recorded at the location, it would be impossible, require a huge ammount of cables lying around and disturbing the video. What you hear is my style to play the song and it is completely memorized, also the rubato. But of course the video recording took a couple of hours and nerves to be as perfect as I can bring it out :)

It is nice and I respect amount of work done behind this version but lets remember about context. Original song is about last words of dying man. It is about darkness, agony and emptiness. I don't feel it from this music. Actually it reminds me Mike Oldfield's Moonlite Shadow song. It was similar case of wonderful lyrics and perfect music but they are not synchronised by emotions.

Hi! Sorry, I had to use a translator and am still not sure if I got it right, but does it mean something like "Keyboard off"? If you refer to the fact that I am not playing live here, you are totally right! This was explained and requested a couple of times in the comments, there is no way to record a video like this in the forrest with several camera angles. The audio was recorded at home, the video on the spot to have a nice view :) I hope I got it right.
