Yao was a different kind of beast. Dude had everything except the 3 point shooting. His fadeaway is ungaurdable and his footwork is legendary. Add to that 7+ feet of human being his defense was also legendary. Not to mention the touch he had from the free-throw line... Jesus fucking Christ.

This series was the equivalent of the Spurs losing Leonard to the Warriors in 2017; you have two elite defenders on the wing (Artest and Battier) just playing pitch and catch with Yao... what a beautiful thing. The T-Mac injury was a blessing and a curse because they got to give Yao the true focus he deserved. The quality on this is really good; the video quality itself, the McDonald's clash of Houston red on LA gold, and Kevin Harlan and the TNT presentation just puts it over the top.

For whatever reason Yao gets so much hate, especially after he got inducted into the Hall Of Fame. He wasn't athletically gifted, but he had crazy skills. He probably has a better post game than any Center in the NBA right now other than maybe Embiid. He had skills for a big, skills that you don't see with Centers anymore. Yao gave Shaq some good competition! Check Yao & Shaq's head to head stats, Yao is 7-6 against Shaq in the regular season, averaging 18ppg & 10rebs while Shaq averaged 22ppg & 9rebs. They met in the playoffs once where LA beat Houston 4-1, but that was Yao's rookie year & he averaged 15ppg & 7rebs during that series while Shaq averaged 16ppg & 11rebs, not a bad fight from a rookie Yao in his first playoffs. Also, I felt Yao led the Rockets better while T-Mac was injured than T-Mac did while Yao was injured, Yao actually got them to the 2nd round without T-Mac. It's just too unfortunate that T-Mac & Yao were both very injury prone though. Yao should've rested all those Summers instead of playing for China, but I get that he wants to represent his country too. I'm a Bucks fan & last Summer, Giannis pulled himself from the Greece team, & a lot of Greece fans were mad at the Bucks about it.

LKLO 90 Yao only gets hate from casual fans that don’t understand that its the BASKETBALL Hall of Fame not the NBA Hall of Fame. What Yao did for the game, making it popular in China, a country that has almost 1/5th of the worlds population, is more than A LOT of Hall of Famers can currently say.
