People keep saying he couldn’t handle the pressure of the no. 10 and what not but he was doing so pretty well. Injuries were the only thing that really brought him down; after those series of injuries, he seemed to have lost confidence in his own body as well as that explosiveness and instinct which made him so good. The only thing he needs at the moment is confidence, and I’m happy with how De Zerbi is so determined to bring him back to his best. He had a good preseason, so I was disappointed with Xavi’s reluctance to show more faith in him before loaning him out, but we’re lucky it was to a manager that believes in him. Personally, I still believe he can make it.

As a Brighton fan. He did well before his injury, not much in the premier league but he was a major contributor to our European run and was a major reason Joao Pedro did well. He was pretty consistent coming out of the bench. However I do think the lack of any full matches played limited him a lot because we have Mitoma and he plays better in De Zerbi’s system than Fati. After his injury he was quite lackluster due to our injury crisis affecting the level of our play. I do think he can rebound for the rest of the season when we get many of our key players back soon.

The man management of Fati was a disgrace. This guy never had a proper elite coach in his life. As soon as Ancelotti stepped into Real Madrid Vinicius became one of the best. Xavi gave him minutes and he played on the left but he always looked like he was nervous dribbling, ig he doesn't want to get injured again but if you play like that then you've lost your touch/why we fell in love with his football. Ansu before injury was explosive and wasn't scared to take on his man but after injury, not the same. believe me raphinha cant 1v1 either but he provides assists.

Fun fact: Fati last season had the most appearences in the barca team. So no, fati had chances, but he was on fire the last 3-4 games though

What ansu needs is intensity. Ever since those injuries, he has never played with that high intensity ever again. Perhaps his body was messed up more than our eyes can catch. But if he can get his high intensity back, he will be lethal again. Most of the time, it just feels like he’s not even trying to fight for the ball.
