You’re so popular in the US, maybe you should consider doing one German light and one US light in the same video. Thank you for another great tutorial.

Great job as usual, Martin. I've enjoyed drilling out cast metal lamps and fitting them with tiny LED's. It really is hard to tell the difference from a store bought version and it's so satisfying to make it yourself. A printer like that is a game changer.

Brilliant. Thank you for this brilliant idea. Perhaps one day you could explain all intricate details about the printing process and all its initial niggling side effects, errors, wastes and fails when setting up and using. 3D Printing on modelling channels typically just simply show the results in a jiffy without actually addressing all the hassle to get prints perfectly. Of course, we do get excellent suggestions for the model rail road this way, however from my understanding, 3D printing is quite the hobby on its own consuming quite some time to get things correctly; not all that rosy and straightforward but can be rather convoluted and very involved. For the inexperienced and potential starter in the hobby for 3D printing, an in-depth involved clarification would be exceptionally helpful. Thank you so much Martin.

Great looking yard lamps Martin, though I would have painted the lamp hoods black to cut out any light bleed first before inserting the wired LEDs, but a wonderful job with the end results.

looks great ! at 8.41 you had some difficulty when you tried to press the finished lamppost into its base. try using at tiny dot of olive oil on the base and it will work like a charm. thanks !

Wonderful Martin. Interesting to see that you soldered your own LEDs. I prefer to buy them ready soldered from China. The cost is minimal but you wait a long time for delivery. Lighting makes such a difference to a layout.

Hi Martin, you have nearly convinced me I need a 3d printer!!! May I suggest you try a 4 to 6k ohm resistor. The higher resistance should make the LED less bright. Thanks for another great vid'.

to my surprise, a high resolution inkjet printer capable of printing waterslide decals is more expensive than a 3D resin printer.

A couple questions: 1- Would it not be easier to paint the lamp hood black *before* assembly ? 2- Both of the wires are the same colour, how did you know to which the resister should be connected ?

i did also print a couple of the lamp post like in your video, they printed fine, and straight, but after curing on a rotating platform the prints started to warp. Do you know what could cause this problem? when they where warped, i did put them in hot water, and straighten them up again, but after some while they started to warp again unfortunally.

Let me explain you on example: In 1992 hardly someone had a connection to the Internet. Anyway we all were going to find out at some point how useful it is for us, e.g. to spit nonsense criticism on KZbin comments. ;-) This is our future.

As Martin explained, 3d printers are reducing in price all the time. They are almost in reach of people who have a limited income like me. Alternatively you could develop your own creativity and try scratch building something for yourself. Very unique.
