This is the best way to meet your neighbors I renovated my lawn at a rental property during covid and met so many friends in the neighborhood that also have kids that can play with my kids and now I moved to my own house first priority was getting out there and working the lawn and now know the whole street and kids play outside all the time instead of playing on ipads

Nothing beats the praises from your neighbors about the (enjoyable) hard work you put into your lawn. When I first move into my house I would be outside on the weekends pulling weeds out of rocks and I had 3 different neighbors from down the street say "You're making me look bad" when they were walking their dogs. Now in my 2nd year, they jokingly bow and ask me to come down and look at their lawn for tips. I love how it spreads and I love the competition!

There's a wasp hack you can find online Im using that works pretty good. Ball up some newspaper or brown paper bag to create a fake wasp nest or two and hang em near where they congregate.

I bought too much shit for my lawn because of Jesse. I pretty much have everything he uses on his lawn on my lawn, but also, my lawn looks a lot like his lawn and yours because of it. I dont know who quoted you 8k to install irrigation but that just aint it, you could irrigate your entire property on like 3-5 zones for under 1k in materials, it would fix your issues regarding watering the road/sidewalks. I would highly suggest doing it yourself. the orbital rotor heads are nice, but your lawn could easily be perfectly watered with just simple mini pop ups. Would love to see a video of you doing another lawn renovation but included the installation of underground irrigation! 👍🤙

I have a self made purring green and current using a seven blade maclane with a Honda engine, works great for now. My ambition is to upgrade to a 10 blade in the future. We have mud daubers which look super similar to wasps. The ones near me dissipate after the water turns off and things dry out a bit. They are often taking sips from the puddles. There are some sprays that you can use but if they go away after the water is in the lawn it shouldn't escalate. Sevendust is what I used for the ground yellow jacketss for my home and raid wasp and hornet killer at work when I got stung last year at work (yellow jackets).

You should have just over seeded your green with two putt creeping bluegrass (poa reptans)instead of fighting the poa insurgence you will have with a bent grass green. Lots of the local golf courses have done this in Washington.

Have you thought about trying Oto Lawn as an alternative to a full irrigation system? That sprinkler would solve the watering the sidewalk and street problem and wouldn’t cost 8 grand as you keep mentioning.

If you have wasps in your yard there’s a good chance they have a nest nearby or on your house. Eliminate the nest at night and you should see less of them. Otherwise you can spray an insecticide like Talstar to try and repel them.
