It’s the best show on the planet it’s the show. I don’t think it will surprise anyone but the roving hand dyed skein is my favorite. Love the greens and blues. I’ve been on a yarn stop myself have to use up what I have. Yarn mystery boxes is a great idea. Even though I know it’s hard to part with yarn.

I like how I watched the short about the background item, before watching this video. lol I'm fairly certain I'd have issues actually doing the making of the items, but I love yarn and such things. Perhaps due to relatives that did it so much around me and so was able to see them create things.

Those purples are gorgeous. 😍 Well done! Wish my local charity shops had anything remotely like these finds. They tend to only have acrylic and often charge more than it would cost new from a retailer. More and more I'm thrifting knitted garments to unravel for crochet.

Have you tried searching for creative reuse stores near you or places you are travelling to? They specialize in craft supplies and often have great prices on yarn.

@@samscatsandcrochet There are only a handful of creative reuse organisations here in Scotland. Those that I've come across direct their materials into childrens' play activities and community projects. These are all great things but there doesn't seem to be a way in for individual crafters.

I love all the yarn, probably cant pick a favorite! I would totally dye the white roving, maybe like a lime green to go with the other hand spun. All the purples are amazing. What a great haul!

What a great haul!!! I wish I was able to happen upon good yarn, but my local thrifts in my city it's a little tough to find. Apparently there's some craft upcycle store in an adjacent city that sales a bunch of craft supplies at like $1 per lb & they have yarn so I have to see what I can find there at some point. Definitely that hand dyed one is gorgeous, but all of them were beautiful really! Mystery yarn boxes on the etsy also sounds like a really cool offering!

I thrifted some yarn recently, too! Not sure who it’ll be fire, but my partner is allergic to wool, so I know I won’t be keeping it. I found two different Marino blend skeins from a small shop in Texas (I live in Colorado) - which is cool, because I would never find this yarn otherwise! One is a lime/greens/yellows roving situation, and the other is brown, magenta, green, and medium blue. It felt silly buying yarn, because I’m packing up to move, but they’re normally $22/skein, I just couldn’t pass it up!

curious or a thought perhaps... why can you not use the "mystery yarn" and label it as such? I know if I love the style color etc... I would purchase it regardless of fiber content. Also.... I'm obsessed with wanting to learn how to spin yarn... It's like a level up to the yarn obsession HAHAHHA. Ive not yet tried it though... it seems scary HAHAHHA

Excellent yarn haul! I love the cotton and also the hand-dyed hank with the blues and greens. Gorgeous colors. My thrift store occasionally has yarn, but not the quality you found. Still, I've lucked out a few times with some cool vintage yarns and brands I typically buy. It's so fun when you score big. :)

i see what you mean - periwinkle is one of those weird colors that takes on different hues
