I thought interfacing both sides of the brim was excessive, but no, it really needed the extra structure!

Hot tip for hat brims: use thin wire rope from the hardware store. It will flex and make the hat "crushable" while still keeping the brim stuff. 👌
@jenavasexton16458 сағат бұрын
Note you do need wire cutters to cut it and the ends can be pokey.

Interfacing...🤔 I'll have to remember that for future projects. Your Wicked Witch of the West turned out great. Your version is not obsessed with getting Dorothy's ruby slippers because her dark hair is better.

You make such a cute vintagey version of the witch of the west!

Wow! I hardly recognized you when you popped on screen all dressed up! Yes indeed you look like the wicked witch of the west …there’s no question! You did a great job. I do have a question, tho…are you married? I noticed a wedding ring! I don’t know why I’m so shocked …probably because I’m 60 year old lady and Every body looks very young to me, but I guess I just assumed you were a young (single) girl. Haha happy Halloween!

I'm taking my puppy Buddha Boy on a mommy and fur baby date day on Saturday. We are going on a little road trip to a local park to go for a walk, then to McDonald's drive thru to get him a happy meal and then to a local per store to get him a new toy and collar. I'm so excited to do this!

Your costumes are awesome! Great job! I love the spiderweb dress😍 I attempted a peacock feather tail costume (like on the Goldfrapp album cover) and a Game of Thrones khaleesi costume, both by hand bc I’m intimidated by my sewing machine.

Happy Halloween, Ernie and Claire! Love this holiday but I don’t often actively celebrate. Usually it’s a question of did we get candy for the few trick-or-treaters that come to the house or do we need to hide 😂 Which reminds me…gotta get some candy! 🎃

I know how you feel about the "Rainbow Dress". Sewing is not one of my "Main Hobbies" LOL. I have done costumes before and loved making them. I Rarely wear costumes myself, I love it when people make their own. SCA... damn you guys for getting me into period costuming. Also, I feel like buying a pattern is "cheating" to me. I love trying to make a pattern out of butcher paper. Thanks for the great video.

+woodshedtheory *Ye could convert the dog to a Gryphon:* The mascot of Fighting ONE FORTY-THREE "Sans Reproache" USN is a winged black panther, thus the "World Famous Pukin' Dogs" as a slogan. Callsign: Dog.

Traumatic. Sewing. Experience. 🤣🤣🤣 I felt that in my bones. The second you held up that material, I knew. Difficulty level : Apocalypse. God, it's gorgeous though! - The fabric choices on your stays! So so so pretty. And I'd wear that spider web dress all year long. 😍 - The worst mistake I ever made while sewing was pattern drafting a cloak and thinking it was a triangle. I made a cape. It was a fantastic cape, but it took so much material and it was utterly useless. lol

Here is something to think about- there is a high chance those close friends you had at work, school or church want to hear from you. Close friends become friends outside of those hobbies by trying to make a rule for yourself to reach out when you think of them. The second step after being like, “Hey! It’s been awhile. What have you been up to?” When (or if) they respond. You follow up with, “Are you free ______day? We should get coffee!” Always keep the first meet up somewhere you can talk and that is usually short and sweet! It’s helped me develop friendships! Cause after a few of those coffee dates/catch ups- you eventually talk about a lot more things and then getting invited to events or to go to events follows. Reality is… most people are nervous to take that first step. But I swear the formula works when trying to reconnect with old buddies.

Another autistic person who loves to sew! I just subscribed because I was a fellow collaborator on Autistic Jenny's October video! My last video on my channel is me hand sewing. I totally feel this video, and the spider web dress was mindblowingly good! I've have also cried during dressmaking! It's can be a challenging craft, but brava to all of these costumes!

Hi Claire! Loved Karianne's thimble collection. Those printer's boxes are awesome. I have a few for small things i display. They look so cool. And thank you for Porch Coffee. It's one of my favorite things on the YT streets. :) I'm not much of a Halloween person, but I do decorate my home with pumpkins and fall things. Have a great week! Awww, love your kitty!

My only experience with sewing was sewing cargo bags for bikepacking. The larger one served its purpose, but was kind of a pain with how floppy it was. I eventually tossed it, but knew from my experience how I would make it different. I wish I had more of the cool, green plaid. I imagine it is the same with the frustrating experience... _after_ you've processed the frustration. Hard-earned skill. All of your costumes looked good. I agree with you, the spider web costume is very cool!
@WoodshedTheory2 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing about your cargo bags. Sewing I have found is one of those things that is easy to get the basics of but then hard to get to a level where it stops looking homemade - I know I'm still learning but I think it is cool to feel like each time it gets better.

Yay! I love the Halloween content. You have a lot of patience to sew garments. I tried sewing some dresses for my daughter from a pattern and it was so annoying haha. I used to sew face masks during covid and I made a few quilts and some mini quilts. Mini quilts are my fav! I made one that says "BOO" for halloween with halloween print fabric. You are making me want to sew again! I have my Boo mini quilt on display for halloween. Now I want to make one for each season...

Oh, my. My objective and subjective reactions to this video are intriguing to me. I'm working on compiling a comprehensive coherent narrative for sharing with my therapist and eventually with my family for the purpose of providing an objective constant for consideration. About me. And my behavior. Past and present. I became interested in your channel because of the late diagnosis autism focus. 🎉 A thread of my story, pun intended, relates to sewing. So. My appreciation for this video is sincere and multifaceted. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your developed and developing talents. 🎉
