Thanks so much for specific s @ front and back refers to direction.I thought it meant right side of work meant the fron t. Other tutorials I watched it wasn't as clear about working the slip as a purl as well.

I have a slipped stitch pattern that tells me to slip the stitches to the WS, woould that be on Every row?

You can use knit instead of purl stitch

How do I unknit a stitch that was slip stitch with yarn in the back?

You'll just slip it back purlwise as you're unknitting it. The yarn will still be in the back of your work and you can continue unknitting. :)
