My kids think I'm depressed 🤣🤣...and my 15 years son started praying after listening to some videos of the after life and death, it scared the daylights out of him.. 😆 good.

Asalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu Shiek. I have lost my mother this Friday in this blessed month of Ramadan. I loved my mother the most, she was my world. she was in India and I am stuck here in Australia and due to this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic I couldn’t even travel to take of her during her during the last 2 years of her sicknesses or be part of her funeral procession. She fought bravely until the end and had so much sabr MashAllah until the very end and passed away due to kidney and other organ failure. What’s surprising is that while she was in extreme pain an hour before her passing away she some how went from the state of being in extreme pain to someone who was in rush as if she is going to miss her flight.She ate a bit of food took some medicine asked my father for forgiveness and repeatedly kept asking Allah for forgiveness and told my sister who was sitting with her that her time has come and said Kalimah 3 times and on the fourth time her soul passed away. Clearly when this news was told to me and my sister who is in Houston we were extremely shocked and distressed. I came here looking for answers and Alhamdulilah have learnt so much more. Again JazakAllah Kair and May Allah protect you and reward you immensely for the work your doing and the knowledge you are sharing with us. InshAllah will try to meet you in person and thank you next time I am around in Texas.

You make it sound like people have controle over the content of their dreams. Anyway, good luck in your journey khaja and keep watching Richard Dawkins' "there's no evidence" until death visits you.

Episode 10 Notes: Can the Living interact with the Dead? Do the Souls of the Dead interact? There is nothing explicit in the Qur’an on this topic. But the scholars have derived meanings from the Qur’an which are indirect. There is one Hadith in the Sunan Al Nasai which mentions, how the souls of the newly dead interact with the souls of those who died before them. The newly dead souls are asked about the ongoings of the Dunya. Based on this Hadith, it would seem souls who pass away, are cognisant of their lives. The souls of those who are undergoing the Adhab Al Qabr are disconnected, from those who are of the Naeem Al Qabr. Thus the good souls are unaware of who is undergoing Adhab Al Qabr. This Hadith is explicit on the communication between the souls of the dead. Can the Living Interact with the Dead? Hadiths mention, the Muslim who sees the Prophet SAW in a dream, has truly seen him. This means in one’s dreams, the living person can interact with the Prophet SAW, despite the latter’s physical demise. Furthermore, the Prophet SAW interacted with the souls of the other Prophets AS, during Al Isra Wal Miraj. It is possible for a living Muslim to see his deceased family/friend in a dream but, there is a possibility that it could be Shaytaan impersonating one’s relatives. However, all the above are exceptions and a living conscious Muslim cannot interact with a dead soul. This is only possible during a dream and even then, it must be taken with a grain of salt, unless it was the Prophet SAW. The reason it’s possible during a dream state, is because our souls leave our bodies and go to a different place that, maybe be close to the Barzakh. The Islamic Eschatology of Non Suni Groups Those who believe the same as Sunnis: The 3 Sunni Aqeedah schools have zero differences when it comes to the Barzakh. The majority of Ibadi, Zaydi Shia and Mu’tazila do not differ to the Sunnis either, when it comes to the Barzakh, Adhab Al Qabr, Na’eem Al Qabr, Qiyamah, Jannah and Jahannam. The Shia: The beliefs of the Shia in relation to eschatology differ depending on the sect. • The Twelver Shia: They hold very similar beliefs to the Sunnis, meaning they accept the Barzakh, Qiyamah, Jannah and Jahannam. But, there are differences too like, how they believe the Hawd belongs to Ali RA, rather than to the Prophet SAW. They also believe the Fitnah of the Qabr has 4 angels, 2 for the believers and 2 for the disbelievers. The names of these 4 Angels aren’t Munkar and Nakir which is the Sunni belief, but rather different names altogether. All of the above groups are considered unorthodox, but within Islam because they still hold eschatological views which, are very close to the Sunnis. Those who differ to the Sunnis: • Isma’ili Shia: Ismaili Shia at first had a similar theology to Sunnism. But, over time they were heavily influenced by Neoplatonism and Christianity which, means their understanding of cosmology and God is very different to Sunni Islam. They consist of many sub sects, yet there are 3 major strands: 1. Dawoodi Bohra’s: The Dawoodi Bohra’s represent original Isma’ili doctrine which, contained a Shariah, Salaah, Zakat, Sawm, Hajj and a belief in the Akhirah. Although they do not emphasize the importance of these things, unlike Sunnis. They are the closest to the Sunnis out of the 3 major Isma’ili strands. 2. Nizari’s: They originally followed mainstream Isma’ili doctrine until one of their Imams, Hassan II of Alamut declared that Qiyamah has already occurred. Hassan II then declared this Dunya is Jannah. Therefore, they don’t do the 5 pillars and believe the Shariah is no longer needed as they are in Jannah. Furthermore, they believe in the transmigration of souls. They were heavily influenced by neo platonic thought. Their theology is very far away from Sunni theology. 3. Druze: One of the smallest Isma’ili Shia sub sects, they broke away in the Fatamid Period of Al Hakim Ibn Amr Allah, who they believe is a physical manifestation of God himself. The Druze are also a very secretive group. They don’t consider themselves to be Muslim, although Sunni Muslims view them to be originating from Isma’ili Islam. They completely reject Islamic eschatology altogether and ultimately believe in reincarnation. • The Alawites: Also known as the Nusayri’s, they originated from the Twelver branch of Shi’ism. They were created after the demise of the 11th Imam, Hasan Al Askari, by a man who was the student of the 11th Imam, called Ibn Nusayr. They only started calling themselves Alawi as of 100 years ago, before that they were known as Nusayri’s. They are the most secretive group and they don’t allow the publication of their books. They have even killed people for publishing books about their theological beliefs. Like the Druze, they believe in the transmigration of the souls. But, the Nusayri’s go even further and believe souls can enter the animals and inanimate objects. The Nusayri’s reject the Akhirah and believe a very pious soul will eventually become one with God. It is due to their radical theological beliefs that Alawites, Druze and Nizari Shia aren’t considered to be Muslims by Sunnis. Fun Trivia fact: The only way to see someone in a dream is to do Dua to Allah SWT. Fun Trivia fact: The Zaydi Shia are the closest to the Sunni’s, out of all the Shia groups in terms of theology. They even view Abu Bakr RA and Umar RA, to be not bad people but, they believe Ali RA was better. It is because the Zaydi’s accept Abu Bakr RA and Umar RAs Khilafah’s, they are called “Sunni’s” in the eyes of the Twelver Shia and Shia in the eyes of the Sunnis. Fun Trivia fact: The Nizari and Dawoodi Bohra’s exist because of a split between two brothers, which created the two sub sects and over time they became radically different, to one another. Fun Trivia fact: The Druze do not teach 85% of their own people the Druze theology, they do this as a point of theology. Only 15% of them are chosen to become scholars. Fun Trivia fact: Druze call 85% of themselves Juhaal i.e Ignorant. Fun Trivia fact: Isma’ili theology believes, souls keep transmigrating from one soul to another at the time of death, until eventually they reach a level where they become one with God. Fun Trivia fact: Historians and Sunnis believe that the 11th Imam, Hasan Al Askari, died in his young age and did not have any children. Thus, they don’t recognise the existence of the 12th Imam. The Twelver Shia are the only ones who believe in a 12th Imam, who is the child of the 11th Imam and the future Mahdi that, is hiding. Fun Trivia fact: It is narrated that, Imam Bukhari’s mother saw the Prophet Ibrahim AS in her dreams. Fun Trivia fact: The Barzakh consists of many levels and the highest level belongs to the Prophets AS. The next level after that one belongs to the Shaheed. ======================================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Life in the Barzakh Series Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Life in the Barzakh series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Barzakh series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. It Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah. Lastly, I have uploaded the notes to Dropbox, if anyone wants them in one document then comment below. I also have done notes on Sheikh YQs Seerah series and Mothers of the Believers series. You can find them below the episodes on his channel in comments. Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins. Ameen!

46:17 "I dont ever want to disrespect a group that bows their head to Allah". Sheikh, just because people bow themselves before Allah doesn't mean they deserve our respect. The jews bow before Allah but their deeds are null and void, the christians bow down to Allah but associate with him partners. Allahs says in the Quran *"Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures and many of the people? But upon many the punishment has been justified."* (Surah 22:18). Allah says in this verse that there are people who do sujud but will still get punishment! If you don't want to make fun of a group that is one thing, but to go out of your way all the time to point out how we should be brotherly with groups who clearly oppose the teachings of Allah and His Messenger is absolutely unacceptable. The shia make sujood to Fatimah (RA) and call DIRECTLY upon Ali (RA) and others. This is clear cut shirk. They ascribe to their imams things only Allah posseses, thus making partners with him. And sheikh you know more than me what they claim! They curse our Mother and accuse the Muhajiron and the Ansar of Kufr, when Allah was well pleased with them and promised them Jannah. They contradict Allah and they contradict His Messenger. It is not part of iman to love deviants! Wallahi i seek refuge in Allah from being resurrected near a shia in the Day of Judgement or near a grave worshipper or a denier of the sunnah! Reconsider your stances Sheikh and be like Ibn Taymiyyah who feared none but Allah. Don't fear controversy, and fear Allah alone.

Yes, I really like and appreciate Mr. Qadhi for his works... no one brings this much knowledge to the table for regular people on online media with mostly correct knowledge from the Quran and sunnah. I can understand him sitting up there and having to meet and greet with people from different walks of life and religious ideology and it can get difficult to be on good terms with everyone but as he constantly says that he doesn't "sugar coat" stuff during his lectures, i hope he doesn't try to sugar coat his image to be the most liked sheikh around and in the meanwhile losing his judgment between the people who actually listen and obey Allah unconditionally and the people who don't.

@abu isma'il, I think if everyone just worked on their iman and watched their own religion, we would be a better ummah. I am saying this as a sunni myself, there is no need for us to pass judgement on others iman. I have no right to say who is a muslim and who is not. Leave it up to the scholars to debate between each other on what is correct and what is not. And you follow what you think is the most correct path based on your own research.

When you have a bad dream you should tell someone who is righteous and knows how to interpret, because it could be a warning from Allah to you. Sometimes to stop committing a certain sin. Bad dreams can be from Satan and can be from Allah. You can tell the difference because they are not the same. Why? Because in Surah Yusuf, the prisoners tell Yusuf AS their dreams and one prisoner's dream is a proper nightmare and Yusuf AS interprets it that he was going to die and what will happen afterwards. Pharoah's dream is partially a nightmare too, like cows eating cows and Yusuf AS interprets that too. So if you have a bad dream and it is meaningful do tell someone so they can interpret it for you. It might be a warning from Allah Ta'ala or a wakeup call.

It's mentioned that the souls can meet each other and the family members are waiting in the barzakh. But we have the other famous view that the souls go up and then registered in the illiyyoon or sijjeen and then brought back to the dunya and reunited with the body in the grave. Does anyone knows how to reconcile those two points?
@faroozahable

Yes. It was mentioned in one of my other fav videos on KZbin by merciful servant - it’s called journey of a soul by merciful servant. It’s brilliant - for the most part they’re the same except for ilyeen and sijjeeen part. I had the same exact doubt!

Dear Sir, you have been kind enough to pour light on all relating angles and tangents, as you, rightfully say and I doubt if any is left. Nonetheless I happen to across a ver practical situation where there was a disagreement amongtst the relatives of the deceased regarding the early and timely disposal and final settlement of inherited amounts and assets. Is there an mutual Islamic consensus or verdict on the fact that the asset (residential property) should also be accounted for rent, whether it is rented or lying vacant till the final succession and ultimate disposal i.e. sale of the property. And the distribution of the rental amount on the pro rata basis amongst the legal heirs. In our case, the property wasn't rented at all during the time the succession formalities were being completed and the actual sale effected, is there a provision that the monthly rental amount ascertained on fair market will be recovered from the due share of the legal heirs even if the property wasn't rented, just on assumed facts that if it was, then this would have been the approximate rental amount that would have accrued. And therefore based on this hypothetical assumption, proportionate amounts be deducted on this plea. I hope I have been able to clarify my stance. Would appreciate if you could kindly support in the matter to eradicate the confusion. Jazakallah Khairun Kaseera.
