Im traumatized by how she claims to be oppressed by westerners, when she supports a religion that oppresses women and gives her no rights. A muslim woman will be arrested for speaking up about human rights, or womens rights in an Islamic country. There are feminists in jail in the Middle East, and in many other countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, they will be murdered. Women are forced to wear hijab in most Islamic countries by law. Why doesnt she speak up about female genital mutilation in Africa? Why doesnt she speak up about child marriage across the Islamic world? Why doesnt she complain that a Muslim woman cant even swim at the beach, play sport or even go for a run in most Islamic countries? Women are property of men in Islamic countries, many women are imprisoned in their own homes in many Islamic countries but she thinks she needs to educate the west about human rights.

Question to Yassmin: what happens to a refugee in Sudan if he says “hearing a Sudanese accent traumatizes me?” I fear to imagine the mob justice (sic). Yassmin should compare the life of a refugee in “any” Western country to that of a refugee in “any” Arab or Muslim country! Not that Arab countries take refugees in the first place! They don't, including that lecturing gas station called Qatar, the global bribery machine. Before lecturing, Yassmin should exert some effort on the blight of black foreign students in Russia and China! Or the state of African migrants in South Africa!! Or the treatment of black and brown migrant workers in the Arab Gulf!!! Despite a blemish here and another there, goodness gracious the Western record is heavenly when compared to that of non-Western cultures. Western mobs don't burn immigrant or minority shops, the way they did in South Africa and Malaysia (another lecturing state). Another set of related questions to the Yassmins of this world: who took Syrian refugees? Wasn't it Germany and other Western nations? And those Syrians still stuck in Turkey, how is Erdogan and the average Turk treating them? And, wow, how is China getting away with imprisoning a million Muslims!! China’s foreign minister was a main speaker at the last Islamic summit! Imagine the riots and terrorism if a Western nation put 10,000 Muslims in “re-education” camps!!! Yassmin could take a leave of her infantile "enfant terrible" persona and ask her parents about the misery, abuse and racism faced by Eritrean and Ethiopian refugees in Sudan!!!! Or if the empathy toward the "other" refugees prove too challenging, Yassmin should instead investigate the treatment of Sudanese refugees in Libya, where they were sold in slave auctions!!!!! Or read about those 20 Sudanese refugees in Cairo who were killed by Egyptian police and mobs for demonstrating against the corruption and incompetence of UN officials (note the peaceful protest was not even against any Egyptian person or institution!) Imagine the international uproar if the Paris police killed 20 refugees outside a UN office!!!!!! The West is not perfect, but my gosh we are light years ahead of other non-Western nations. Australia and London are dream locations for 99.999% of Sudanese. Alas, there’s always that 0.001% ingrates. I wish the latter would vote by their feet.

Well I am from Sudan and speak Arabic with a Sudanese accent, I also speak English with an Ozzy accent (almost 30 yrs here).... Maybe I'll speak both to her to confuse the shit out of her, possibly short out the last few brain cells she may have. All jokes aside, as a Sudanese and now a proud Australian too, I am ashamed of such ungrateful behaviour. Not only of how it reflects on her or the unfair attack on Australia and Australians, but also of how it misrepresents the truly beautiful and kind Sudanese people. Australia is my adopted country but it has given me and my family such a huge favour and blessing. How can someone like her, who probably escaped persecution there, at the very least escaped a harder life, be so ungrateful to the country and the people who took her in and offered the very freedom she is using to express that shameful attitude. Regardless, here is something that we Australians believe in; we will continue to be kind to people in need even though we do not have to, and just maybe one day people like her will realise that this we do out of love and care. Not knowing what happened or who this Yassmin is, I can only guess. And seems like a waste of my time to find out what a nobody hater on Australia thinks. Young Queenslander of the Year, did she win that on her 2 merits, like Kamala did, being female and being coloured? Great choice of our best, isn't it, someone who hates us. I suppose that happens when you virtue signal rather than award on any real merit. What a flake, being traumatised is such a flake word. Everything traumatises them, except looking in the mirror and taking self responsibility and a long good hard look at the massive imperfections they are ignoring within themselves whilst putting themselves up as a paragon of everything good and right.

He had this very strong Australian accent and I didn't want to insult him, but very graciously he repeated it and I thanked him. But he had such a strong accent, I was a bit embarrassed too. A defining story of the attitude of Australians to people.....helpful and kind if required.I have travelled to different countries and ran into the same problem. I found if I listened very intently and tried to pick up the particular nuances of the accent and like a radio tuned my ears to recognise and translate those differences. After a while, like driving a car it becomes automatic and there's no longer a problem. Cheers.
