Thank you for this tutorial. After a few hours of trial and error I finally have DCS world working on my yaw vr with all my airplanes and it's made all the money and time worth it!

hey dude, thx for your vids ! pretty cool stuff here :) quick question : if you alt F4 the game or quit the race for exemple : doest it stop the yaw ?
@DollarDIY3 жыл бұрын
Yes. If the game stops the Yaw will stop. Sometimes it has to be “parked” once it stops via the phone app. This will center the seat.

Found you video by searching "yaw vr" uploads for this month (June) and still had to scroll. Did you get the pro version or regular? Do you reccomend yaw vr? Excellent knowledge sharing about Sim tools. Will subscribe to your channel and look forward to future uploads of additional yaw vr tutorials, gameplay and reviews. As you know most reviews only show the (gameplay) and not the setup of simtools and calibration.

Thanks for your video..I'm thinking of getting the yaw VR.. Do you have the standard or pro edition? Think it's the pro based on the back rest. (Was wondering if the standard edition version will have enough power for me.. I'm 200 pounds/90kg).. also does your racing wheel have force feedback and if so how do to power it and the manage the USB and power cables from your controllers and get them to reach your PC without getting tangled with all the yawing etc? (it looks challenging to manage all the cables).. (I have the Thrustmaster t300 and tp3a pedals (also three pedals ..I'm also into flight sims and wonder how easy and how much time does it take to swap out flight controls for racing controls depending on the mood you're in? Thanks for any feedback

Hi. Thanks for the comments. This is the pro version as I was concerned about longevity. I am 200 pounds and it has no problem tossing me about. I say tossing as I have yet to tweak it enough to have a comfortable ride. That being said, the Yaw is a great device but definitely is not plug-n-play. There is little documentation so research on forums and trial and error are required to get the Yaw connected and running. In the video I connected to American Truck Sim through SimTools with a plug-in from xsimulator which took several attempts to figure out the sequencing (start the Yaw, run SimTools, start the game, activate SimTools, run the plug-in, start the Yaw app, start the Yaw on the app) and that was for one game. Other games may be different but I think others follows a similar process. I tried the YawVR Engine and it was much easier to connect and with more accurate results (less tweaking). The racing wheel does have force feedback but its not really needed. I'm searching for a wireless wheel as I had to restrict the rotation (yaw) of the Yaw to not get tangles up in cords or pull them from the wall. I ended up removing the foot pedals and programming the wheel for the throttle. I did buy the stand for the headset cable support which probably could be used for USB and power cables but I think that would also get very messy. Wireless is really the way to go. I used the Oculus Touch controllers for the Aces High with the YawVR Engine and it worked nice. All controls are virtual though. It doesn't take much time to swap out the control panels but it does become a chore if you do it a lot. I set mine up so I only had to remove one of the two screws on the right panel and I could rotate it to another position and only replace the one screw. This works well. Sorry for the long winded answer but I'm excited about the Yaw and am looking forward to trying more games. Yaw is adding more of their own game plugins all the time and these work real nice but I have to buy the games to go with them. It will be nice when programs start coming out with the Yaw code built in. Take care and good luck!

@@DollarDIY thanks so much for your thorough reply..are there wireless controllers (wheel, joystick etc) that come that way stock then? Someone else pointed me to this video for making the saitek x52 wireless if you're into diy kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIWseJ-rqaatiJo it does look like a nightmare with all the wires.. why would you say force-feedback in a wheel or joystick won't be needed? Just because the yaw VR provides enough force-feedback itself? Eg. Will the yaw VR simulate vibrations eg. due to engine rumble, crashing, stalling an aircraft, pulling Gs etc or only moves in the direction your virtual aircraft/car moves in without adding the natural vibrations etc? If you can't get wireless would a usb hub and a long enough USB extension cable suffice (to avoid tangling) for connecting to your PC be enough for connecting 3+ USB controller devices? Thanks again

Did you use a HDMI and USB extension cable for the headset? If so there a specific brand, length amount or Amazon link you reccomend? Thanks.

I just purchased one of these, it does make me a little hesitant because it looks like to set it up properly you have to purchase additional software. And now that you have had some time with it, has it made you feel sick at all?
@dande70044 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathan. I own one of these since past August. Since January YAW have its own software that supports many games and simulators that is pretty easy to setup. About make you sick, if you have it properly configurated and your sim/game is running smoth in your machine you can actually feel less sick than without it. Enjoy your unit!

Looks like a wiring nightmare. Also the column holding the wheel doesn't seem very solid.
@DollarDIY4 жыл бұрын
It is. Wireless is the way to go. The Virtuix boom is actually real nice for keeping the cord out of the way but forget it on the steering wheel and pedals. I ultimately dropped the pedals and used the controls on the wheel for acceleration and braking but even with only the wheel wired it got tangled. It works great if I use wireless controllers but you don't get the full submersive experience of VR. And yes, the wheel holder tends to move. There is a hack to add a bolt to make it more solid and I may try that. Not perfect but a lot of fun.
