Great in depth break down of the slider. thank you! My question is, you put the mic right above the slider. What happens when the mic is 6 feet/10 feet away? Can it be heard? if someone is wearing a lav mic? can you still hear it? I need a quiet slider for interviews.

Cool review Mauro. That looks like one scary contraption, like all the budget sliders, it feels like the motor is an after-thought. I think if anyone is looking for budget sliders the way to go is Zeapon.

One thing that Zeapon falls off: The Pan slide that this is all about....
@PhillipSkraba4 жыл бұрын
@@MAUROSFILMS Zeapon is apparently in the process of finishing up its pan/tilt head. Also, the size of the Zeapon and double length slide is a great secret weapon. The parallax is great, IF you can control it like in the Edelkrone system, here it's a kind of Vegas luck if you hit that point all the way through. For $380 though I'd think twice, that's still quite a bit of money to spend. I tried the budget Neewer which looks almost identical in design to this and it really felt primitive. I'm quite sceptical about the look of this one. Anyway, thanks for the review Mauro!

@@PhillipSkraba hello ,where did you hear that news about new zeapon pan head? I still cant decide which slider will be better ,zeapon or onion. Onion has only pan head advantage for me .

Would love to hear your opinion on the YC Onion + gimbal integration compared to the Moza slypod + aircross 2 gimbal for robotic shots.

Great video! How smooth are the parallax shots? Does it come to a smooth stop or is there a jerk at the ends?

I have the same question. I had a similar system in the past and the parallax was not great.

just bought a hotdog v3 and bun to use with my Crane 3 Lab, and i'm a little disappointed to be honest. The gimbal and slider do NOT sync up, so you program in your waypoints and by the time the slider gets to even the first waypoint, the subject/object is not in the part of the frame that you want it to be. I'm not saying it's completely useless, but it's not good. You can't use it to shoot products expecting professional results. If you want to dolly across to a subject and the pan as you go by, that's not happening. You just dont know when it's going to start the pan. So, you have to do it by hand. If you're going to do it by hand then you're better off buying a cheaper motorised slider. I suppose it would be alright doing landscapes and stuff, but as for in studio. I wouldn't buy one. Also as a side note. I didn't receive a spare belt and thread adapter with mine. The slider comes with a 3/8 thread on it so you can't mount a dslr directly onto it, or even a gimbal, you need a 1/4. Many of the video's you see state that the adapter comes with the slider along with a spare band for the motor, it doesn't. So to buy an adapter you can get a cheap one off amazon for $12/$10, but, once it's tight the camera might not point in the correct direction. To buy an adjustable adapter you're talking an extra £35/$40 for the very cheapest and about £100/$120 for a good one. Just be aware of this. Can I recommend it? Not without a firmware update fixing the sync issue. But my guess it isn't going to be fixed. When the slider came out 2 years ago this issue was highlighted. A firmware update was mentioned as a solution, but it's never happened. If it's not been fixed by now, they aint fixing it. Basically, this is good as a toy or a hobby. The other problem I've found is that if you create a waypoint and then move the slider and create a second, it doesnt slowly move to the second point. It will hit the first point and stay on it until until it moves to the second point, and then jump to that. It would be better if it slowly went form point to poin. That way you can "track" a subject. There needs to be 2 video modes, a point select, and a drag mode. What you actually can do is create a first point and then use the joystick on the gimbal to track the object, as the app records what you do with the gimbal between setting a and b. The problem with that is this, if ive already completed the move by hand, what do i need the app for? The app really is limited in this regards. Be aware of the limitations before you buy one.

@@reztheson you can't connect it directly to ronin ! We have to buy an additional accessory and this also applies to the new ronin, including for him they offer another accessory!
