Perhaps the most common comment I get is some version of "yeah capitalism is bad, but what can we do about it?" I figured it was about time I made a dedicated video to answer that question. Let's read a little theory!

So valuable! WITBD? is a difficult read because there are so many specific references to different newspapers/journals, people, etc. that most of us likely know nothing about that it gets confusing trying to keep track of who's who. When I tried to read the book myself, I kept getting bogged down, but listening to it as an audiobook allowed some of that to just wash over me. In truth, a lot of those details aren't terribly important to understanding the book's message, so it's better to just keep going without trying to sort out all those details.

It's maddening. It IS human nature to improve things. Everything! If it wasn't, we wouldn't have to be constantly propagandized about how "horrible" humans are. Nor would there be so many people who WANT to change things. All the misery and suffering wouldn't feel 'wrong' and 'depressing', it would just feel normal. We wouldn't have people coming together to try to help whenever we hear about war, disaster, disease...in fact, it's like, when things go wrong, humans can't sit still! -- we HAVE to do something, or at least try, or go insane. There would be no protests, nobody in prison for feeding the homeless or helping squatters or engaging in protecting the waters and the forests of this world.... The human species would have crumbled to dust, despite the constant cruelties of our suicidal ruling class, LONG before now; if it were not literal human instinct to try to improve conditions for both ourselves and others.

If you can't find one online near you, join a protest or rally and ask around; there are some that aren't easy to find online. If even that's a no-go, even joining a mostly liberal organization that focuses on progressive things (like climate change) can work for taking that first step and getting experience.

My fellow comrads usually are too focused on what they should discuss, and not focused enough on HOW something is being discussed. The regular working class has a set perspective on their minds: 1 - Ok, the world we live in is indeed bad, my life has unecessary struggles, and others have it worse. but what is the alternative? comrad: have you thought about, socialism? 2 - Yes, and no. socialism failed. So since we don't have anything better, lets just stick with capitalism and improve it a lil bit so MY life can be a bit better. And this perspective is a result and byproduct of sistematic alienation. And folks please learn this: alienation and stupidity aren't the same thing! Our working class across the globe ain't stupid! So stop treating them as such. they know struggle, they know pain, discomfort, violence. they know the effort they make in life doesn't return to them as value, they have some ideas on why that is, but their big missconception is on HOW, and that is due to decades of alienation. So, how do we face this? My proposition is simple, and i've been practicing it over the past two years by treating my fellow angry, rebelious, anarchic, sarcastic working class members without stupidity. Embracing their feelings because they are real and legitimate, and truly debating on these 2 basis for their anielated perspective: 1 - Socialism isn't an alternative to capitalism. The idea was never about replacing one with the other, to make a functionality change. Capitalism is a step in human history that had (very tiny few) merits, one being productivity making us leave the scarcity paradigm behind. But at what cost? A structure hand made to benefit one class above the other, that is flawd on its root, that needs to produce war, crisis, concentration of wealth, corruption to kill competition, exploit more and more to simply exist. So communism is the cientific study of this step in human history, and socialism is a transitionary step to OVERCOME capitalism and take a new step further. it was never about being an alternative, an option, a model. 2 - Socialism never failed. Socialism never failed. i'm going to say it again so our fellow trotskist can twist their interns, SOCIALISM NEVER FAILED. Socialism was DEFEATED. It was militarily, politically and socially defeated thanks to: the death and murder of socialist leaderships, economic embargoes, counter inteligence manipulating inner ppl in strategic places, consorting with local burgoisie, and tons and tons of anticomunism propaganda. "Hey, good for you fighting for your ppl, but, the best u gonna get is this amount of money on ur lifetime. what about i kill your leader, then you became the leader, fall under our interests and you become rich as fuck?" they only needed to pervert a very few and brainwash the masses. So we need to abandon this false idea that socialism failed. The worst socialism is better than the best capitalism, for the basis of the working class. capitalism works? yeah, for sure. but to whom? We can't treat our fellow working class members as stupid ppl that don't wanna see socialism as a good alternative, BECAUSE ITS NOT AN ALTERNATIVE AND THEY DON'T KNOW IT. we can't blame them for thinking that socialism is a delusional dreamy idea that failed and some ppl never got over it, BECAUSE THEY WERE SISTEMATICALLY TAUGHT THIS WAY. My dear comrads, you are aware about the truth of the world, now is your job to build patience and share.

Most active UK groups are: - Communist Party of Britain - Young Communist League of Britain (CPB affiliated) - Revolutionary Communist Group - Revolutionary Communist Party (not same as RCG) - Socialist Worker’s Party - Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition I have my problems with each of these orgs, and there will be a lot of disagreement on which is most effective. In my view i think CPB/YCL is probably the closest to Marxism-Leninism in terms of party structure and ideology, but SWP are very active with protests and TUSC regularly have electoral candidates at both national and local level. If you don’t like the org, be the change you want to see within it by participating!

I'll state it again, here in the context of the urgency to get organized: the RCI / IMT is international (over 40 countries), and here in the US we are building the Revolutionary Communists of America.
