Now if there’s one team I would tell you all to keep an eye on early and throughout the entire 2024 NBA season, it is undoubtedly the Oklahoma City Thunder. Because coming off a year where they exceeded every single expectation that was put on them as a team, and heading into the new NBA season with an only improved roster, Thunder head coach Mark Diagneault looks like he might be trying to do some things that I never would’ve expected to see.
To start with the OKC Thunder offense, it’s clear with this unit being led by their young stars in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams & Josh Giddey, that they plan to run one of the more unique and versatile offenses we’ve ever seen. Because with incorporating bigs like rookie Chet Holmgren, Ousmane Dieng, Jaylin Williams, & Olivier Sarr, along with the guards of this rotation in Lu Dort, rookie Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe, Tre Mann, etc, they’ve already showed us limitless possibilities for what they can do through just one game.
And that’s without even going too far into the Oklahoma City Thunder defense, because this side of the ball could very well be what surprises people the most about this team this year. But with SGA, Giddey, J-Dub & company leading the pack for this team heading into 2024, the early season success they’ve found might not be a fluke like some would want to think out there.
This video includes 2023 Oklahoma City Thunder OKC basketball highlights, also including topics like Oklahoma city thunder 2023, thunder vs pistons highlights, chet holmgren thunder highlights, chet holmgren okc thunder, sga highlights, shai gilgeous-alexander highlights, sga thunder, cason wallace thunder, okc thunder news today, lu dort thunder highlights, jalen williams okc thunder highlights, okc thunder news today, jaylin williams thunder, thunder rookie highlights, okc thunder draft picks, thunder vs bulls, thunder vs nuggets, thunder pistons, okc thunder live, okc thunder full game, okc thunder summer league, okc thunder espn, okc thunder first take, okc thunder live stream, okc thunder draft, okc thunder reaction, thunder cavs, thunder highlights, thunder intro, okc thunder trade rumors, okc news, josh giddey interview, josh giddey highlights, etc, which I do not own ANY of the rights to whatsoever, as these are intended to be used under the guidelines of fair use through KZbin.

I think they are a 50+ win team I'll say 52/30, but playoffs will depend on who they match up with. I still think they have no possibility of beating a team with a dominant center in a 7 game series. So they might make it to 2nd round as long as they don't get Nuggets, Timberwolves, Suns, etc first round. Jokic embarrassed Chet and the whole team in there matchup and while I think he can hang with some solid centers the dual-threat and physical ones like Jokic, Embiid, Gobert, etc will really be an issue for them. Although JWill has been hurt and we haven't seen him play this season. He has bulked a bit so maybe in miracle situation he's developed enough to guard them but I doubt it.

I’m a Sixers fan, and I absolutely love the personell this team has. Players like Wallace, Dort, Williams, Dieng give you so many options in regards to rotations, lineups and defensive assignments. If I were to build a team it’d look exactly like this. You want to play more traditional? Put Dieng at the 4 and move a Williams to the 3. You want to go small? You can without losing on defense, you want to go big..? You can without losing from the perimeter. They can run, they have length, and the crazy thing is they are all so young! But I do think if they want to seriously advance in the playoffs they need to get a backup Center. Someone that’s a more traditional 6’10-6’11 who can protect the rim when Chet is out and grab rebounds and go for lobs/putbacks. I think Jaxson Hayes would have been a good fit if he didn’t sign with LA. Also, Shia can score, we all know that. But if he could average 7 assists per game that’d really out this team over the top.

As an OKC fan i HATE how your organization got credit for "the process", when we did it first. Thats without diving into how tge process was not a real thing. But whatever. I didnt reply just to talk shit to you. I agree we need another center. My solution last year was to trade for Markenin. Now, i still want him but hed only be with us for 1.5 seasons if we got him this season. Id love to get Adams back after his contract OR Noel. He did great for us. I do disagree with sga and assists. I dont think we will see a single player averaging 7+ assists on this team. Not because they cant, but everyone is a point and assists are very spread out because of that. Its one of those things that the NBA will have a hard time adjusting to and start to copy.

No shit. He learned a lot from CP3. He's legit, a 2 way player. If he can average 15 on this roster, he could be 22+, easy, as a top option on a team with less talent. And defensively, ill still argue hes the best defensive guard in the NBA. Its just amazing how overlooked he is. What sucks even more is i feel the FO does not have him in our long term outlook. I think we might package him, probably Mann or Wiggins with a couple picks for someone. This is the season before legit contention IMO, and when the FO figures out whats missing and which guys to go after, thats when hes gone. Also, i have this weird feeling Presti and KD have discussed him playing his final two seasons here and retiring with us.

He isn't a 30 pt scorer but he'll be a 20 and 2 guy while averaging about 3 blocks on top of that. offensively his ability to both create opportunities for teammates and rebound to crate 2nd scoring opportunities makes him so unique. We've had numerious great centers. Adams, Perk, Kanter, Sabonis, Iblocka earned his name while playing mostly center, before Perk came. But our 3 game did lack. However its also worth noting most of those years, the NBA was still more traditional.
@inFamous_Izanagi

@JimBob-jr5up sabonis and Ibaka were good, but none of those guys were great. Adams and Perkins have never had an offensive game to speak of outside of a dump pass from Russ. Kanter could score, and I love the guy, but he's about as much of a defensive liability as anyone can be. Ibaka was the only one with any real all-nba talent aside from Sabonis, but we only used sabonis for a couple of extremely early years in a very limited role. I'm glad he's getting to shine now. Always loved him.

@@inFamous_Izanagi Yet they are all great bigs and Donovan was the perfect coach for that Ibaka, Kanter, Adams PF/C rotation. That last year with KD, Donovan outcoached Pop with those three. As for Perk, that dude is overlooked in his value and what he did. Look, if your only measure of "great" is HOF, sure, whatever. But myself and i think most others, thinks thats an absurd mrasure. But then to even say we didnt have a center, yah, we did. Considering Perk and the issues ppl had there with that era, okay, fine. But after Perk we had Kanter and Adams and no one can reasonably waive them away as you are. BTW, the only time Adams was an option was post-KD and during that time, Russ/Adams was the best pick and roll weve seen since Stockton and Malone. Before that he was just a clean up guy, and he ate, he did his job. There is also sometging to be said about our lack of offensive development with young players, after KD and Russ hit a certain talent point.

It's not super intel...put a 6ft guard on Holmgren...not genius. You at WORST make him pass on the perimeter into the lane. I'm an old school 5'10 guard and I could stop this dude. No one challenges his dribble...it's stupid!

sorry i had to laugh, lol 😂 😂 a 6ft guard can stop chet? put down the pipe. reminds me of the out of shape couch potato who had the answer for everything. He could not only do everything he saw on tv, but execute even better.

@@callumsmith5819 make him do that all night long then, just don't let him put it on the floor for a steal plus he has to bring the ball up to shoot. Quicker guard hands has another opportunity for a steal. Some coach will try it.
