One of the purest, most heartbreaking songs ever written. Can't listen to it without wanting to cry over my ex wife.

after over six decades as an avid fan of country music, this is up toward the top of my list of great songs. Pity it isn't already a classic. Confirms that Thom Schuyler is a massive talent, I think this is the best cut of his song. And that 16th AVENUE wasn't a fluke!

I know this song from Eddie Rabbitt’s recording and consider it to be one of the most heartbreaking songs ever written. I have great admiration for anyone who can write something this perfect. Bravo.

I've never heard the other versions, don't want to after hearing Thom! To me, this is the most perfect song, the words, the melody, the arrangement, and especially Thom's beautiful voice! ♥ Brilliant song writer!

I've never heard this version, but only grew up to Eddies, which I like better. But you can tell, Thom's is from the heart. Kinda like comparing Dolly Parton, against Whitney's song. I'll take Dolly.

Great Song, nicely done - Do you know of any song similar to this that actually got the woman to go back to her mate?
