We just cleaned out my Grandparents house in rural Wisconsin after my Grandma died ( Grandpa died years ago ) .They lived there for over 75 years and oh , the memories . All the holidays spent with my siblings and cousins , the laughter , the games , the great food , running through the corn fields , chasing all the chickens , the many hugs we received as children - the love that that old house represented. I'm a grown man , but I sat in the corner of that house and cried . To me , that house symbolized the many blessings I have received in my life and how quickly time truly does fly . I like to think that heaven will be just like that house .

This has a very deep meaning to it and I understand every word of it. We've had the same house in our family for well over 50 years and after my parents died I took over and I wonder who's going to take over when I pass. I love this song

It is such a phenomenal song and I have been in love with this song since I first heard it. I cannot thank you guys enough for it. It means so much to me and how it resonates in my soul. And yes it brings tears to my eye and heart when I hear it for I feel like that old house.

Me too! I have been looking for this song for simply years! Like you, I remember this video from when CMT first started. This song has always haunted me and I fell in love with this these guys, this song, acoustic guitar music and the songwriters like Nanci Griffith and Skip Ewing. I tried once again find it last night as I have been watching a lot of music performed by Nanci lately due to her passing away, and I couldn't believe when it finally popped up! This version that I remember! I sat here and watched it 3 times - and cried each time as you just feel so much emotion for the old house. Such a beautifully written song, played so simply on acoustic guitars and the harmonies! I wish they would have put more music out. So underrated.

He has specifically commented on my comments on his Facebook posts and replied to an email I sent him many years ago! This song still makes me emotional thinking back on the house I grew up in and all the family trips we went on with this cassette playing! Every song on the album was pure perfection!

Reminds me of the house I grew up in... my grandparents bought it in 1953 n raised their kids in it... was a basement house until 1969-70 they added a ground level n a 2nd story... my parents trade houses with my grandparents in 87 or 88 n I was born in dec 89.. lived there till I was 19 and they sold it cause my dad had a another job about 70 miles away it was pretty heart breaking then but really heartbreaking now I worked on that house n yard every weekend and summer my whole life it was really nice when we sold it but it's basically become a garbage pile since then the people rented it out and it's been destroyed but we have 56 years of memories there
