I'd usually pick yellow ochre but I'm always trying something new so transparent yellow oxide would be my next Both look so similar but I want to see the color mixes because sometimes they will look different Some yellow ochres have a greenish undertone but I like my palette to be more warm and have a good selections of cool reds too like Quinacridone Red Light and Quinacridone Magenta

Yes. They are very similar, as you can see in the video. But TYO is darker, but at the same time more transparent. A beautiful colors. :-)

Great comparison thank you for doing this. I was literally sitting here trying to choose between my DS Burgundy yellow ochre PY43 and RS Trans yellow oxide PY42 and wondering why I kept leaning towards the yellow oxide.

I like transparent colors. However, in this picture, I like the yellow ochre color better.

Yes. The Yellow Ochre is beautiful. However, the TYO is more transparent and at the same time can get realy DARK. It is an interesting comparison. Either will do, in my opinion. Have a great day and keep on painting.

Trans is my choice you can always go lighter with extra water so you also have a bit more granulation so it would be good for many things like sand ,beaches ,cliffs,walking paths,...
