Seeing how easy the machinery made it look makes me want to cry. I just spend a day digging out a circle through clay soil with bricks/rocks/bramble roots etc. With a shovel and a fork... 👀

You are at an advantage with all that equipment.

I admit, having access to a back hoe and ZT mower is nice, but renting a sod cutter will do the same job, even better to be honest. As long as you have some kind of motorized yard equipment 4 wheeler, small tractor mower, you get the same result. I have done the same before without some of these toy's... its just takes a lot more sweet equity :)

is their a specific size you need for the 2x4 ? I also have 18x48
@Yellowdogsworld2 жыл бұрын
I used a 12 foot 2x4, drilled the hole at 10 foot to give me a 20 foot circle. that leaves you an extra foot around the perimeter

Did you have any issues with that sail shade on the playground in background sir?
@Yellowdogsworld Жыл бұрын
The first one we put up lasted about 4 years up year around, The second one not much, maybe 2 years. So i think it all depends on who makes the sail, both were ordered from amazon.

I'm here because I gotta do the same with a 12 foot pool no machinery but all by hand. At least I have subgrade leveling skills that I haven't used in 25 years!!

Where on the bottom mower do you hook that hook up to?
@Yellowdogsworld Жыл бұрын
On my mower it has a bracket for a tow hitch, I used that.
@ViralRuckus4 ай бұрын
Did you use a 12 foot or 16 foot 2×4?
@Yellowdogsworld4 ай бұрын
I’m certain I used a 12 foot board, 18 = a 9 foot radius, that’s why there was 3 feet overlapping the center.

What's the point of the sand, is it necessary?
@Yellowdogsworld Жыл бұрын
I would not say it’s necessary, but it helps in getting as smooth and flat a bottom as possible. From what I’ve been told you don’t want it too heavy since sand tends to move easily.

Some great ideas here man. Could you have just used the box blade to remove the grass? I have a six foot box blade but no backhoe. And be honest, how blown out were your shoulders after that?
@Yellowdogsworld2 жыл бұрын
With a bit of finesse, I think a box blade would do the work too. My shoulders were good and warmed up, fortunately, they held up.

With that equipment you can build your own in ground pool. 😄 I can help you build an inground pool if you help me build mine, as long as you're near Lampasas Texas.

Sounds like a deal, just need me good heavy equipment trailer and a diesel truck to haul it with- 😀 but I am in South Carolina… so on second thought🤦♂️
@weskarcher483 Жыл бұрын
@@Yellowdogsworld Yea that's too far. The accent sounded more like you were from Texas. You can actually build an in ground pool for about 3 to 5k. Depends on how fancy you want the finishes and if you skim coat or just use a liner. The construction is just with simple cinder blocks. You have the hardest part already solved... digging the hole.

Using Sand voids the manufacturer warranty
@Yellowdogsworld3 жыл бұрын
Interesting? To be honest though, most warranty's are not worth the paper they are written on. I would not be surprised if the warranty is voided if you put water in it :)
@Bankai723 жыл бұрын
@@Yellowdogsworld Yeah I dont know what I would expect from the manufacturer. Any issues are sure to be my fault anyway. Every video I've seen people use sand to level...Like EVERY single one...
@Yellowdogsworld3 жыл бұрын
Well, I think it's ok personally but one thing to remember is sand doesn't pack, this is why I used it as little as possible, for me, it's more for the fine finish than major media leveling if you use too much it's going to move around under the pool eventually. This may be why Intex doesn't support it "so to speak".
