Quick video of using the new baby orca lure made by Shimano. Came out recently from ICAST. Bought from fisherman's landing. In this video, I showed how to work the baby orca lure in order to get the strike. There are many different ways of working this lure, however I found success with the "burn, pause, free spool, burn and repeat technique. GEAR of choice : bass rod :) Shimano teramar inshore series with a curado 300 ej . Spooled with 40 lb braid, and 30 lb fluoro leader.
Had the pleasure to fishing on a private boat on the Legend. Big thanks to my Friend An and Mikey for inviting me on the boat to create and share memories.

I went on an overnight trip like this out of San Diego for Labor Day. On the day before, my same boat, same length of trip limited out at 200 yellow fin and yellowtail. For my trip, not even every angler caught one, but fortunately I did. It was a huge disappointment. I expected 10 but only got 1. It's such a toss up when you go on a charter boat deep out to sea. Since I don't have the $ to toss around on a gamble, I'll stick to the shore for now ;) Glad you got one Rodney!!!!

totally agree! Thats why I like showing deep sea trips as much as I can. Because there are few and not that many of them. Congrats on your catch. Its a grind out there sometimes, and youre at mercy of a lot of elements

Have that same setup. Took it out on a charter out of H&M landing. Caught so many tuna on it. They kept announcing on the speaker that the guy with the trout rod has another one. It was so funny, but catching a tuna on that rod wears you out.

When you said size 4 hooks I didn't believe you at first (I bought 4/0 hooks instead doh!) but when I actually was there on the boat with live action, you weren't joking.....Apparently those tunas can see a hook from hundreds of feet away and will be turned off right away by the appearance of a metal object on a sardine!

Yo Rodney gonna go down for deep sea the end of September which charter boats do you recommend that are ~$50-$75 per trip per person? The action in SD seems to be way better than the ones I've experienced in OC (i.e. Newport, Catalina)

Excellent question. $50- 75 range will get you a 1/2 day charter boat. With that being said, The seaforth in Mission bay has good 1/2day boats both AM and PM. catch a lot of rock fish, and maybe even some yellowtail! good luck out there and thanks for having the bell notification on :D
