Last year my wife and I went to Bandlands, Minuteman Missile, Wind Cave, Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National Park. I would like to know why everything in the all gift shops was made in China or other than U.S.A. ? They’re U.S. National Parks!

The park lands are beautiful here. We do appreciate your Kind words. For a chance to see one of our parks, I would recommend the Great Smoky Mountains National Park The Flora and Fauna are second to none. The Capture of a time in our early American History and way of life are on display. Spectacular Sight line views of Mountains and Valleys, with the springs and rivers all pristine. Underground Caves near by in Tennessee and North Carolina and the Famous Blue Ridge Parkway National Park. It is 469 miles of Park Road thru mountains and valley farms whiich will leave you awed at every turn. Add Skyline Drive National Park into the trip and you will be left awestruck of those Three combined Parks will give you memories and solitude to rejuvenate your soul and spirit.

We have reservations for the first week of October at Old Faithful Inn this year. We have been trying to get there for three years. First my husband was in the hospital with a pancreas infection and then we were cancelled due to the covid closure, so we thought that this year would be perfect! We will see if they don't close down early for the season. I am so sorry for those that had to evacuate due to flooding and washed out roads. Thank you so much for sharing this vital information!

I work in the park and you'll probably be fine in October weather wise (no guarantee of course) I was hiking last October and it was pushing 80. The big problem is that damage to the infrastructure could take years to repair.

About 30 years ago we picked up wife's brother who worked at the Lake Hotel. It was at the end of September and we got snowed in for a day (roads closed unless you had tire chains). From West Yellowstone had to travel south to Alpine to get back to Jackson Hole as Teton pass was closed.

I was in Yellowstone the Sunday before last. I saw a momma griz with 2 cubs in Lamar valley, a young black bear in Lamar valley and another young black bear in another site between Gardiner and Mammoth which was really surprising. It was great! We saw maybe 20 elk in total but we see at least 1500 bison in various areas. They were mostly in massive groups. I live about an hour from the park and every year there's idiot people that think bison are approachable. It's really hard to understand! They're the size of a mini van, weigh a ton, they're fast in bursts and wild! Nothing about them seems like something to try to get close to yet every year a handful of visitors wind up making an unplanned short flight courtesy of a buffalo! I'm glad she didn't die. I hope she makes a full recovery. I really hope she learned from her mistake too! Anyway, thanks for the info! Oh and yes, the rivers and creeks around here are absolutely insane! Falling in one right now would likely be the end of a person!

Same over here in Custer State Park. A woman said she could 'talk' with the bison. She was promtly depantsed. The bison ran off with a souvenir of the 'talk.' The park rangers found her pants and her keys to her automobile. Sturgis Motorcycle rally t-shirts were commemorating the bison that year. Too bad they didn't have a pair of jeans hanging off of one of the horns!🤣😂🤣

An unplanned $60K flight! Here right outside of Albuquerque is the Sandia reservation, they have a bison herd that are in paddocks that go right along side of NM556. One time my ex-husband and I were on the motorcycle, and the bison were running along the fence right next to us. That was exhilarating! 😲😄

In 2020 there were a lot of rock slides...and boulders had rolled and bounced onto roads. It was a mess...but I must say most interesting. The majority of bison incidents are not the bisons fault. People want to pet, get close and touch, tease and taunt, try and pet a baby, even get their little kids on their back for a good picture. The bulls are protective about their females...especially during August which is rut season. ( as with Elk )

Worked there a couple of seasons, and one of the first things in the safety brief is NOT to mess with the bison, and that if one starts charging you then get down and curl up because you are not outrunning it...it was explained their top speed isn't high compared to other animals, but their acceleration is such that by the time you turn around to run it is already ontop of you.

Many decades ago (70's) in the Wichita Mts. WR in Okla, a guy stopped to film some buffs--which were doing what they like to do: graze and poop. He wanted them to do more, so he picked up a few rocks and threw them at the grazers. He BARELY made it back into his little Nissan pickup before a bull slammed into the side of it repeatedly, turning it over. We teens had pulled over just because our jaws had dropped when he started tossing rocks. Bull moved on and we went to help the guy turn his trucklett right-side up. Guess what!?--he was actually PO'd at the animals! (who had also trampled his shoulder-held camcorder). While we helped him, he kept spouting that he was going to sue; rangers should have done a better job of 'training the buffalos'; ad nauseam, with about anything else you can think of from the Stupid Script. I've also seen a few negative outcomes from folks 'just trying to pet that baby...whatever" Is there hope for the majority of us human beans?

That covid thing messed up everything...and last year I just went to Rapid City S. Dakota and did a bunch of stuff because Yellowstone was ssooo crowded. (and yes I took in Sturges ). In all of my trips to Yellowstone going way back to 2020..nothing has changed in the way of tourists. They still walk out on the thin crust at the geysers, get burned and then want to sue. With the Elk and the Bison..people still want to pet, get selfies, put their kids close, taunt and tease the animals...they are crazy...then if anything happens..they want to blame the park. There is a cute vid on you tube called Dances With Buffalo..really cute (poor guy). Hope for tourists...never

We got out just in time! When I look at the weather report last night, Stef and I started making plans for getting out early and heading to Cody Wyoming. When they started talking about snow, we said let's pack up and get out! Our daughter and her family decided to head out of the park to West Yellowstone for lunch; when they tried to re enter the park and get to their camper to come join us in Cody the rangers had closed the gates. we made Cody and I got the last responsible in town. a couple of hours later they left folks back into retrieve their RVs from the various RV parks. my daughter and son-in-law and finally made it here to Cody about an hour ago.

I have lived in Montana my entire life, 50yrs, and I have NEVER seen this happen, not like this. We have had swollen rivers and some flooding in the past, but nothing like this!!!! We have had many fires the last couple of years, again, never had seen it burn like this in all my years either...Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park are majestic and beautiful places to visit, and it is mind boggling to us that have grown up here to see the idiots that come here, who have been told and warned about staying away from the wildlife, keep thinking it is a good idea to try and get so close to them. There was a couple who picked up a baby buffalo out of a stream and put it in their vehicle because they thought it was left behind from its mother....what they didn't realize is they just gave it it's death sentence. The baby had to be euthanized because it couldn't be returned to the heard and it couldn't be moved anywhere else due to disease. People...LEAVE NATURE ALONE!!!!!!

I think it's from the snow we also got on Memorial day weekend. Over 10ft. of heavy wet snow on Beartooth. Most of Wyoming mountain ranges got alot of snow. Big Horn mountains are full of snow. Now we are having spring run off. Red Lodge Montana is totally flooded from Rock creek. The town looks like a roaring river.

89 north from Gardiner is shut down. Many bridges have been damaged, water is over the roadway in many places. East river road is also under water in several places and I’m sure have been washed out as well. Yellowstone looks like the Mississippi right now.

The CCC was disbanded in 1942. I believe it will be awhile before the road gets repaired. I was in Yellowstone May 2021 and the road from Roosevelt to Canyon Village was closed for "construction." Visited again this year (May 2022) and the road still closed. It's really too bad Arizona and New Mexico can't have some of that rain.

I was always under the assumption crocodiles were more aggressive than alligators. Is that not the case? Having said that I had no issues from either one when I kayaked there. Floated right over some I could see submerged under me.

@@blakew5672 Alligators are more aggressive during mating season. Don't fall out the boat! Or dangle hands or feet. They can jump several feet out of the water. If YOU are in the Everglades in last few years, the anacondas and pythons have taken over! They even eat the gators!! You can probably look on KZbin for a picture of one of the snakes with the belly ripped out, by a half digested gator. They both died.They even have an annual snake hunt, because they have killed off all the small game. Definatrly don't take your dog out!

@@tada6672 Gotcha. Yeah one of the kayak trips I had planned got canceled for something like that. Wasn’t a gator, but a croc had a nest on the Hells Bay kayak route so the rental place in Flamingo wouldn’t transport their kayaks there lmao. Ended up kayaking down the canals to the Joe river and camping on a chickee. Never saw any big snakes, but I’d imagine I was too close to coastal water for much of that. Definitely an awesome place, and it wasn’t bad even for July.

Thanks for the video. We were supposed to go to Montana in August but due to high gas prices and uncertainties I'm our country we will be staying home. I miss Montana I grew up there and left it when I was 17.

THX - we had not heard about that. We have some friends that are KZbin / RV full timers that are there. We checked with them and they are "high and dry" and safe at their resort in Idaho not far from West Yellowstone.

Just left on Sunday. Last day at the park was Friday. Came in through the south entrance. Barely any traffic and most places were not busy at all. We went early in the mornings. Looks like we just made it out in time.
