Why they all have a diagnosis of some kind, why the 🔫 up schools, why whenever they're challenged in the slightest and have a real world issue thrown at them, they have a nervous breakdown.

@beastfam251 he was raised as his own, granted they made that more difficult by hiding it forever. Ultimately people like me who have been raised with a dad and not the biological father leads to a better outcome most of the time. Yeah me and my dad fought and still do sometimes. If you look at how their lifestyle is and how they were raised it was a guaranteed thing of Jamie having a pretty kosher life as long as he didn't get a view of "I'm better than you ". I ain't blood related with my dad's side yet they were a keystone in most of not all of my difficult times of life.

@treycantrell8590 i'm extremely confused by your reply in your comment, you said that "i hope Jamie can recognize that he is the weapon that Yellowstone needs". The respect shown to the Native Americans in this show is unprecedented. I still hate they cast a half white/half-asian woman as Monica, but I've learned to overlook that in the face of everything else. Really liked the Tim McGraw flashbacks, too. Seeing young John I and Spencer with their parents. Would've like to see the kids return for flashbacks in 1923, but that could still happen with season 2. The flashbacks in general are pretty good. 11:20 tells you everything you need to know about Jamie and John's relationship. Jamie just wanted to be like his Dad; a cowboy and rancher. You could see from his reaction and barrage of questions that he didn't want to be a lawyer. Jamie does what he's told and serves as the family counsel for 20 years only to be mistreated and disrespected by the very man who made him go. The very man who made him into something he didn't even want to be...

I think it's exactly precedented. Someone had to eventually honor Native People and Culture, especially in a show that centers on the land and impacts of oil and cattle. The respect of culture and land, and the relationship with the fact that people were pushed out of their homes and are still is evident, and it's a beautiful thing to see researched and respected here

Agreed. On all fronts. It would have been nice if Elsa and Sam had a kid or two and she wasn't offed so young.... nice to see Kayce, though, echoing his 5 great aunt Elsa in a sense. A Dutton with a First Nations Indigenous spouse, that also has deep ties to the land due to him possibly being the one to inherit the Yellowstone ranch... just sayin', nice tie back to Elsa and the 7th generation prophecy.... And as far as Jamie goes... Man. He should have just been allowed to become a rancher like John. Beth should have gone for that second degree. May have helped even her out. Jaime taking her for that abortion was not great, knowing what he knew about the whole procedure. ALSO, tying back to the respect for the Native American's and problems that no ONE ever talks about... that sterilization but, based on facts as well. Can we just say.... the writers know their stuff! It is quite impressive to see. I find myself going, "OH MY PANCAKES AND SYRUP!!! FINALLY!!! That's factual. THAT'S something too that they don't teach in public school history classes. Nope only if you go digging deeper into the archives or know SOMEONE from the reservation...." it is JUST... well done, all the way around. The good, the bad, and all of it. Either way, Jamie made a HUGE mistake, sadly, with Beth and her abortion. And it's hard telling if he had his own agenda started then, because if she had the first male grand child, out of wedlock or not.... either way, whether it was intentional or unintentional on Jamie's part, fact remains, he robbed her of one of the things she really wanted in life WITHOUT being honest about it. And like John told a young Rip, you can't cry about the consequences AFTER the fact. You should HAVE considered them BEFOREHAND.... damn shame. I hope Jamie gets a bit of a redemption before he goes. HOWEVER... I still feel Beth is correct and Jamie needs to take a ride on the big black train. Though John seems to hesitate, which kinda proves to some degree, that he considers him family/one of his own.....

@@DianaJG8 I wouldn’t say adopting him was a mistake. It was him sending Jamie to college to be a lawyer that lead Jamie into developing his own motives and agenda of wanting to do certain things the right way. John wasn’t about doing things the right way if situations were serious, their family being threatened. John may be a fault for sending Jamie to college, but he ain’t at fault for what Jamie became when he became a lawyer. That’s all Jamie’s doing, under the influence of others who easily manipulated Jamie by striking at his ego.

@@kjiggidy5719 Well, Jamie never wanted to be a lawyer. Just a rancher. He, ultimately, wants the same thing John does: for the Yellowstone ranch to survive and be inherited by future generations of Duttons. It's just that while Jamie wants to go about it the sensible, beneficial way, John wants to go about it the old school wild west way. It's for this reason the ranch is suffering and why his oldest son is dead. Jamie's really not a bad guy, when you think about it. He's just desperate for acceptance and suffers from a lack of self-confidence. A guy like that, regardless of how smart he is, is bound to make poor choices and some mistakes. Like the rest of his family, he's no angel. But compared to the rest of them, Beth especially, he's a saint...

So, it took me a minute to realize how since this was back then, when it took place... Most boys weren't raised up with respect for a women's own body-mind and women were raised up to believe they only had one purpose and that they are just another to get used and knocked up. Boy's not being able to show their tears, that one I'll look past considering WHERE THEY ARE, How they're livin'. Not showing any vulnerable, clowded with emotion minds. They have to stay aware and be prepared.

I think you have that reversed, TODAY kids are raised like you describe, back then you abused a woman you were more likely than not beaten to death by the other local men like John Dutton...He blasted his own son in the face for hitting Beth, his sister, with the admonishment that a man NEVER hits a woman. And sorry to JD, but I'm the only boy of 7 kids, if I wasn't willing to hit a woman i'd have starved to death or died as a little boy lol.

It would be very disheartening if they canceled the show after season 5 just because Kevin Costner wants to work on another project. There are so many other phenomenal actors that are carrying this show, and for some of them, it's their big break. For others who came on later in the series, they've played standout characters that will be gone before they get the chance to develop further. My suggestion would be to have Jamie and Sarah hire a hitman to kill John and Beth, but someone else gets to John first and he dies. This means Kayce steps up to protect the ranch, Jamie is ridden with guilt over what he was about to do and returns the family, and Beth reeks havoc in an effort to the find the person who did it. The coming together of sides to get justice for their father could finally help to settle the feud between Beth and Jamie. Carter steadily the takes the form of Rip 2.0 for Tate and is accepted as Beth's son. Maybe Jamie dies in some honorable last sacrifice that proves his loyalty to the ranch and Beth takes care of his son, thus fulfilling the Dutton family dream of "having enough sons after all on one road together."
@Lyrielonwind
@Lyrielonwind 9 ай бұрын
Not bad but Jamie is a full blown narcissist and they never feel remorse. I think Beth should take her father's place as crazy head of the family and Yellowstone. With Rip close to her, there will be a balance 😂 and other stories can go on. John can die tragically on the hands of Jamie because a heart attack would be too natural for people craving drama...I mean everyone 😂... but Beth is the best character to keep the series moving on.
@loliver9660
@loliver9660 9 ай бұрын
@Lyrielonwind I respectfully disagree. Jamie is a tragic character thrust into villain status by lack of a properly developed story arc, which Taylor Sheridan admits himself. Jamie is remorseful, as seen during the murder of Sara Nyugen at the start of the series. He has a full-fledged panic attack, grief stricken, and full of self-loathing over his actions. He tells Beth during a car ride that he will allow Beth to hate him for everything if it means she stops hating herself, which is about as sacrificial as he can get. He also tells Beth that taking her to get an abortion was the single worst decision of his life. Beth is completely unhinged and sadistic at this point in the story. The only thing standing between her and the abyss is Rip, who she has been lying to for years about the abortion of his child, a situation she completely blames on Jamie even though she, in part, requested it from him. Between her and Jamie, she is the one who takes zero accountability and has no remorse for any actions she takes, always justifying it as "what is necessary for the ranch." Jamie is effectively Frankensteins monster, with John being his maker and potential victim. The only way for the ranch to be saved at this point is if Jamie and Beth move past their trauma and pool their resources.
@Lyrielonwind
@Lyrielonwind 9 ай бұрын
@@loliver9660 Agree to a certain point; she wanted an abortion, not being unable to ever have children and Jamie didn't tell her but I agree there are far too many unresolved trauma going on. Anyway, I understand you like Jamie more. To me he's a narcissist and Beth is borderline but I still would prefer a Beth than a Jamie in my life if I could choose because Beth might be crazy but she can be the most loyal person in your side. Jamie only cares about his ego and butt. We could be arguing about it for hours but it's not in our hands to give it a way out and have a fair close or end...I don't think it's possible; both have been too damaged.

Jamie’s character doesn’t have the strength to lead the family.
@loliver9660
@loliver9660 6 ай бұрын
@mircat28 Agreed, but I guess I wonder why there needs to be a "leader" in any family. True, there is usually an older matriarch/patriarch in the form of a grandparent who provides words of wisdom, but ultimately a family is made up of individual people who create their own special units by getting married and having kids. In the case of the Duttons, Kayce and Monica have their own life away from everyone. Beth has repeatedly said that she would leave as soon as he father dies. Lee is gone, so there is only Jamie left who really wants to be there. Maybe the experience of being turned against by his family will give Jamie the strength he didn't have. He's obviously strong enough to plot a murder at this point. He's slowly becoming his father.

@@JodiLeaSnakeQueen I assume you haven’t had a chance to watch the series? If you get the answers, it will contain spoilers. At minimum, with out too many spoilers, Rip has no records due to his family situation - he ran away from a terrible family situation, documents were either not available or possibly destroyed (accidentally? purposely?). It remains unstated whether Rip’s lack of docs was lost during his ‘traumatic family event’ or if John ensured he didn’t have records for Rip’s own protection from the law or if John saw a long term use for Rip as the Ranch’s fixer and having no papers was helpful to that end.
