Fantastic video thanks for sharing. Reminds me of our holiday last year to Yellowstone. To fly over such a beautiful country in a plane you built yourselves, it really doesn't get any better than that!

Really enjoyed the video. You did a great job with pacing and not spending too much time in one area. I would have loved to have seen the ADS-B callouts on the Dynon for the fire tankers. Not complaining, just a thought. Loved seeing the different exterior perspectives from the 2 cameras. They seemed rock solid which I mention because I've seen other folks videos where it seemed like they were oil canning or shaking. The scenery speaks for itself - incredible. Thanks for taking us along.

Do you think this trip would have been possible with the 80HP engine? I'm buying a sonex soon and I'm worried the 80HP engine won't be enough for the high DA at KCDC in the summer.

great video! inspiring trip. curious - why the Jabiru 3300 vs. the AeroVee? power/speed?
@JimHicke8 жыл бұрын
The Jabiru is used in flight schools in Australia. It is smooth and powerful with good fuel economy. The newer engines - past 3 or 4 years - have fixed the early model issues. I wouldn't hesitate to use that engine.

Awesome video very inspiring....interested in the Sonex. Do you like it?

This is the fastest plane you can build/buy for the money period. My decision came down to building something that left me with plenty of money to fly the heck out it and so far, no regrets.

Hi Jim. Is it possible to get some pictures/info about your extra fuel tanks? Thanks a lot and congratulations for your nice plane. Please say hi to riveting girl.

Good day, Looks like Ramona with all the tankers. I am interested in Sonex for a build. I am frequently at that airport I would really like to talk to someone that has built it and has a Jab up front and maybe even taking a look at the planes layout. Let me know if you would not mind having a discussion. Thanks or the video. Cheers, J.

Sorry for the delayed response, I used to fire-and-forget on KZbin until I realized how many people were watching. If you could send me a private message on the sonex forum, I'm sure we could setup a tour.
